You are about to embark on a journey of


self-discovery and insight
into the inner sanctum of your own mind. The SoundMind Meditation 8-level meditation course
will guide you step-bystep
through the simple and effective techniques in The Breath Series and Inner Body Series.

We strongly encourage you to make an agreement with yourself to practice the techniques we
will be introducing to you
on a daily basis. To have success with this technique of meditation, it is essential that you
practice as often as possible.
This is not unique to our meditation technique. All meditation techniques require consistent daily
practice if the
benefits are to be realized. Success with meditation will definitely happen when you set high
expectations for yourself –
that is, high expectations of your own level of effort. Like anything in life, there is a direct
correlation between your
effort and your success. But you will find, with consistent practice, that the benefits are profound
and you will feel a
strong desire to meditate regularly so that you can continue feeling the benefits of the
technique. An initial push is
needed to learn the technique and realize these amazing benefits, and our voice-guided lessons
will help you with this,
making it much easier to learn. Just find a comfortable place to sit, and listen, that’s all. We will
teach you everything
you need to know.

Our program is not a magic pill that will give you instant relief from your troubles, but we can
certainly promise you all
the wonderful things that a magic pill would give you if you do make this agreement with
yourself to practice daily, and
make it part of your life. In fact, with daily practice you will gain so much more than any pill could
ever possibly give
you. The rewards are too profound to state in words –they must be experienced. So set your
goals now, and decide that
you will be successful! SoundMind will most definitely help you by teaching you how to meditate
in a careful,
methodical and comprehensive step-by-step format. Our program is very thorough, and if you
complete it to the end,
you will be able to sit for long periods in a deep state of concentration and examine your
subconscious mind and unravel
all its mysteries. And you will have an amazingly simple and profoundly effective tool that you
can use to feel connected
to your deeper self no matter where you are or what you are doing in your life.
Listening Instructions:

Begin listening to “Breath 1.0 Discourse” and “Breath 1.1 Main Instructions” together, back to
back, for the first 3 or 4
sessions when you begin this level of the course. After this, you may skip the Discourse and just
listen to the Main
Instructions. As you begin to feel more comfortable with the instructions given, you should move
up to Breath 1.2
Guided Review for a scaled-down version of the instructions. When you feel ready, move up to
Breath 1.3, which has no
voice-guided instructions at all, but instead has bells and gongs interspersed throughout the
session. These gentle
sounds serve as reminders to stop the wandering mind and bring your awareness back to your
meditation session. And
again, when you feel ready, begin listening to the practice session Breath 1.4, which only has
the binaural audio and
background of your choice. This is your own practice session and all your technique and ability
to stay aware will come
from your own personal effort. It is important to be able to meditate successfully during the
practice session before you
move up to the next level of the course work, whichever level you may be on.

While you are working in any level of the course, the program syllabus is structured in exactly
the same way as described
below. When you begin to feel confident during your work in a given level, feel free to listen to
whatever program you
wish to on any given day. For example, one day you may feel you need the extra guidance and
listen to the Main
Instructions as a refresher. The next day you may want to practice on your own, so you listen to
the practice session or
gong & bell session. In this way, go back and forth between these five sessions as needed until
you feel ready to learn
the next lesson, at which point you should begin this process anew on the next level of the
course. The learning model
we’ve designed is aimed at giving you just the right amount of guidance and support that you
need, but not too much,
determined by no one else but you, whatever level you are on.

If you practice every day, you should spend about 4-6 weeks on each level until you finish the
course.

SoundMind Course Syllabus


The SoundMind Meditation course-work is divided into two volumes: Volume I - Breath
Series and Volume II - Inner Body Series. Each Volume is divided into four levels and
each level is divided into five sub-levels. As you progress through each level, the concept
is to introduce a new aspect of the technique and then slowly ween you away from the
guided meditation so that you can practice the meditation techniques on your own. The
reason we do this is for you to learn each lesson without the need for external guidance.
Ultimately we want you to meditate independent of any aides, and external guidance is
very helpful in the beginning, but if it is relied upon it can eventually hinder your longterm
progress. This method will guide you in the most intuitive and simple way towards a
comprehensive understanding of the insight meditation techniques -Breath and Inner
Body.

The success of this program will be to have you eventually NOT use it, and be your own
guide. You will learn a technique which allows you to penetrate your deep subconscious
mind. This deepest part of the mind is where your mental impurities lie, and is the very
place where you will begin to undue lifetimes of mental conditioning. This is important
because if we never undue this conditioning, we will never be liberated from the mental
habit patterns which cause stress, anxiety, and all the other forms of mental agitation
and suffering. These mental defilements can be purified using this insight technique. If
you don't buy into the concept of multiple lifetimes, it doesn't matter; the technique
works to undue the conditioning from this lifetime as well.

Each level of both Breath Series and Inner Body Series are structured as follows (N =

N.1 Main Instructions (the main in-depth guided lesson)
N.2 Guided Review (a sparse guided-meditation and review)
N.3 Gong & Bell Session (gong or bell reminders every few minutes)
N.4 Practice Session (a practice session with no external reminders)
