NEPAL
Tribhuvan International Airport is the only international airport of Nepal. Immigration Office, TIA
(Tribhuvan International Airport) under Department of Immigration has been facilitating tourists flying
to Nepal by providing Visa on Arrival. 'On Arrival' visa procedure is very quick and simple. You can expect
some queues during peak Tourist season. If you wish to skip those queues, you can also consider getting
Visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions stationed abroad prior to your arrival. Choice is yours.

If you have obtained visa from Nepalese Diplomatic Missions, then you must enter Nepal within six
months from the visa issued date. Your total stay is counted starting from the day you enter into Nepal.

Visas obtained on Arrival at the Entry and Exit points are 'Tourist Visas'. They bear multiple Re entry
facility. Tourist Visa 'On Arrival' is the only entry visa to Nepal. If you are visiting Nepal for the purposes
other than Tourism (sightseeing, tour, travel, mountaineering, trekking, visiting friends and families),
you should still get ' Tourist Visa' to get into the country. However, you must change the category of
visa as per your purpose and length of stay in Nepal from Department of Immigration by producing
required documents.

Nationals of designated countries are requested to acquire Visa prior their arrival from their nearby
Diplomatic missions (Embassies/consulates) of Nepal Government.

Please follow these simple procedures for Tourist Visa on Arrival at the airport (TIA) if you have not
acquired Visa prior to boarding the plane.

1st Step

Fill in ' Arrival Card '

Fill in Online ‘Tourist Visa ‘form ( you can fill it up prior to your arrival visiting our official website
Department of Immigration / fill it up using Kiosk machines upon your arrival at the airport). If you fill it
from the website, you will get submission Receipt with barcode, please print it out and bring it along for
acquiring visa. It works for fifteen days and becomes invalid then after. If so, you will have to fill it up
again.

2nd Step

Make payment at the bank according to your visa requirement ( 15/30/90 Days)

Get the receipt

While you can use different modes of payments (at visa fees collection counter), we advise you to carry
some cash to be on the safe side.
On Arrival Visa Fee

15 Days – 25 USD

30 Days – 40 USD

90 Days – 100 USD

3rd Step

Proceed to the Immigration Desk with your online form, payment receipts and your passport

Hand in your documents to immigration officer for visa processing. He/she issues visa to you upon
his/her satisfaction.

Gratis Visa (Visa for Free)

Gratis Visa is issued free of cost in case of following categories of Visa applicants:

Children below 10 years

Up to 30 days for SAARC Citizen (except Afghanistan) visiting Nepal for the first time in a given visa Year.
Afghan citizen are eligible for Gratis Visa on Arrival only upon the recommendation of Department of
Immigration. If you are an Afghan citizen, you can request concerned institution inviting you to Nepal for
necessary paperwork with Department of Immigration to get you Gratis Visa 'On Arrival'.

Non Residential Nepalese(NRN) card holder ( issued by MoFA /Nepalese diplomatic missions abroad)

Chinese Nationals

Officials from China, Brazil, Russia and Thailand do not need Entry Visa based on reciprocal visa waiver
Agreement

Visas of all kinds including ‘Gratis’ issued at the Airport are Tourist Visas. Contact Department of
Immigration for extending your visa or changing the category of your visa. Tourist Visa extension can be
done from Immigration Office, Pokhara too. Non tourist visa extension can be done only at Department
of Immigration (if eligible) for a period of maximum one year (except business visa).
2. E visa INDIA
Instructions for e-Visa
1. e-Visa has 5sub-categories i.e. e-Tourist visa, e-Business visa, e-Medical visa, e-Medical Attendant
visa and e-Conference visa. A foreigner (other than those applying for e-Conference visa) will be
permitted to club these categories. Foreigners applying for e-Conference visa will be permitted to
club with e-Tourist visa only. Only 2 e-Medical Attendant visas will be granted against one e-Medical
visa
2. Applicants of the eligible countries/territories may apply online minimum 4 days in advance of the
date of arrival with a window of 120 days. Example: If you are applying on 1st Sept then applicant
can select arrival date from 5th Sept to 2nd Jan
3. Recent front facing photograph with white background and photo page of Passport containing
personal details like name, date of birth, nationality, expiry date etc are to be uploaded mandatorily
by the applicant. Additionally one more document depending upon the e-Visa type would also be
required to be uploaded. The application is liable to be rejected if the uploaded documents and
photograph are not clear / as per specification.
4. e-Visa fee is country/Territory specific. Bank transaction charges of 2.5% will be charged additionally
on applicable e-Visa fees. The fee must be paid at least 4 days before the expected date of travel
otherwise application will not be processed.
e-Visa fee once submitted is non-refundable as the fee is for processing of the application and is not
dependent on either Grant or Rejection of Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).
5. Applicant should carry a copy of Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) along with him/her at the time
of travel. Please confirm that your ETA status is shown as 'GRANTED' on this website prior to
commencement of your journey. Applicants can track the status of their application online by
clicking VisaStatus
6. Biometric details of the applicant will be mandatorily captured at Immigration on arrival in India.
7. The validity of e-Visa (except e-Conference visa) will be 60 days from the date of arrival in India. In
case of e-Conference visa, the validity will be 30 days from the date of arrival in India. Double entry
is permitted on e-Tourist visa and e-Business visa. Triple entry will be permitted on e-Medical visa
and e-Medical Attendant visa. Only single entry is permitted on e-Conference visa.
8. e-Visa is valid for entry through 28 designated Airports (i.e. Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra,
Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh,Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa,
Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai,Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Portblair,
Pune, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Varanasi & Vishakhapatnam) and 5 designated seaports (i.e.
Cochin, Goa, Mangalore,Mumbai,Chennai). However, the foreigner can take exit from any of the
authorized Immigration Check Posts (ICPs) in India.
9. This facility is in addition to the existing Visa services.
10. e-Visa can be availed for maximum of three times in a calendar year i.e. between January to
December.
11. e-Visa is non-extendable, non-convertible & not valid for visiting Protected/Restricted and
Cantonment Areas.
12. Please be careful while making payment of the e-Visa fee. If the number of unsuccessful attempts is
more than three (03), then the application id would be blocked and the applicant would be required
to apply afresh by filling the application form again and regenerating a new application id.
13. The e-Visa fee payment status updation may take up to 2 hours due to technical reasons/network
delays. Before re-applying, the applicants are requested to wait for 2 hours for payment status
updating, after final submission of the application form and payment of the fee. In cases, where e-
Visa fee has been deducted but status is not updated, the applicants are advised to verify their
payment status by clicking on 'Verify Payment/Pay Visa Fee' tab or by clicking on the link Verify
Payment.
14. Nationals of Yellow Fever affected countries or travellers arriving from these countries must carry
YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION CARD at the time of arrival in India, otherwise they may be
quarantined for 6 days upon arrival in India.

3. E VISA Sri lanka
How can I renew my tourist visa?
Every bona-fide tourist who enters Sri Lanka within the period of the landing permit granted by the Immigration officials
at the port of entry can apply for a visa extension before the expiry of the visa. Two (02) months extension beyond 30
days shall be granted at the Department of Immigration Emigration (Head Office) . However further extension shall only
be considered with valid reasons. This restriction will not be applicable to Ex-Sri Lankans.

What are the documents I need to extend the visit visa?

The person who obtained short term visit visa should obtain Electronic Travel Authorization ( ETA) before entering the
country. No foreigner should enter into Sri Lanka until he/she obtains ETA.

Tourist visa

1. Return air ticket.


2. Address and the telephone number of the place of accommodation. (hotel vouchers and bills)
3. The application along with the photograph of the applicant.

* It is compulsory for the applicant to be present to collect the visa.


Submission of ETA application by the applicant.

If you are planning a short visit to Sri Lanka, you can submit your ETA application online to the Department of
Immigration & Emigration.

Steps to be followed:

Click on the Apply button and fill in the ETA application. Pay the relevant ETA processing fee using your
electronic payment cards (credit card/e-commerce enabled debit cards) and submit the application. Only
Visa, Master and American Express Cards are accepted. If you are unable to pay by electronic payment
cards (credit card/e-commerce enabled debit cards), you have to select one of the alternative options.
Apply If your application is successfully submitted, you will receive an acknowledgment promptly. View
