The Asuras who were slain by the Supreme Lord actually are the symbols of
anarthas in our hearts. In the 10th Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatham it is
mentioned that in all the philosophies of the world whether it is monism or
Sankhya Yoga, the only person who is truly glorified is Lord Sri Krishna. Even then
Yosada Mai considers Lord Krishna as her innocent, mischievous son and
punishes Him from time to time. There are two types of Lilas that the Lord indulges
in. they are Madhurya Leela and Aiswarya Leela. Thus the Lord conquers the
heart.

There was a certain gentleman who told Srila Prabhupada that his Guru Maharaja
was actually the Lord. When Srila Prabhupada asked the gentleman why he felt
so, the gentleman replied that when his Guru meditated he used to levitate in air.
Srila Prabhupada smiled and replied, for that matter even a cockroach levitates.
There was another person who told Prabhupada that his Guru was God and he
wanted Srila Prabhupada to meet him. When Srila Prabhupada was introduced to
this guru, Prabhupada was surprised to see that the guru had a fractured hand.
When Srila Prabhupada inquired as to how God could have a fractured hand? Pat
came the reply from the Guru’s devotee that “My Guru who is none other than the
Supreme Lord, had his hands fractured when he slain Kamsa with his hands in the
previous Yuga!!” This is the height of ignorance amongst the masses.

Once the Lord and his associates went to steal butter from the house of the Gopis.
The Lord had a dear associate called Madhumangal who was quite plump and
enjoyed gulping up large quantities of butter and curd at the place of theft. He
would generally be the last to evacuate the place of plunder and many a times he
would be in trouble because of his gluttony. On one such occasion Madhumangal
was caught by the Gopis during his act of stealing and was having his hair pulled
by the Gopis. The Lord and his associates watched the entire episode. The Lord

jumped in to help his dear friend Madhumangal. He shouted at the Gopis saying
that Madhumangal was a Brahmin and the Gopis had committed Aparadh by
reproaching Madhumangal and that there could be grievous consequences as a
result of this act. The Lord seemingly cursed the Gopis that they would see hell for
their heinous act. Immediately the Gopis relented and fell at the feet of the Lord
and begged pardon. The Lord said that the only way to atone for this sin was to
ask Madhumangal himself as to what could be the best possible way to cleanse
the sins accumulated by the Gopis while insulting him. Madhumangal immediately
took advantage of the situation and demanded the Gopis to feed him another 1000
sweets to appease his hunger. Thus the Supreme Lord moves about as a
mischievous and the most doted child in Braja Dhama.

On one such occasion, the Lord with his friends entered the house of a Gopi to
steal butter. As a measure of protection, the Gopi had attached bells all over the
place so that if the children tried to steal butter, the bells would ring and raise a
signal. When the Lord and the associates saw this arrangement, the Lord
immediately summoned the presiding deity of the bells and ordered him that the
bells should not ring even if the children entered the house and stole butter. The
deity agreed to the command of the Lord. The Lord and his friends were now able
to easily break open the house and reach the pots of butter. Now as the Lord took
handful of butter and was about to put it in his mouth, all the bells started ringing.
The Lord was angered and summoned the deity of the bells. When the Lord asked
the deity why he had disobeyed His order, the deity of the bells replied that he was
thoroughly confused with the commands of the Lord. He said that on earlier
occasions, the deity was ordered by the Lord that it was mandatory for the bells to
ring at the time of Bhoga and now the Lord had ordered that the bells should not
ring as the Lord and His associates stole butter. The deity of the bells was bound
by all the orders given by the Lord till date and therefore he had abided by all the
orders of the Lord. The Lord thus robs the heart of his dear devotees by his Balya
Leelas.

Once the Lord told Radharani that she was His topmost devotee and unless any
devotee had the mercy of the Radharani it was not possible for him or her to
access the mercy of the Lord. Srimati Radharani was the dear most to the Lord.
The Lord went ahead and told her that the affection of Radharani was so intense
that even Yasoda mayi would have to fall at Radharani’s feet. Radharani would
not believe what the Lord said since she felt that Yasoda Mayi was a superior
devotee as compared to herself.

Once Yasoda Mayi saw that at nightfall Krishna and the Gopis were performing
Raas. Yasoda mayi immediately approached the Gopis and reprimanded them
and told them that they should not disturb Krishna since He would be very hungry

and tired after grazing the cows at Govardhan the whole day. Radharani
immediately jumped in and told Yasoda mayi that anyone who is dark in
complexion and who sports a peacock feather and controls people with His eyes is
not Yasoda Nandan Krishna. She told Yasoda Mayi that one who is playing with
the Gopis is Radharani’s Krishna and Yasoda mayi’s Krishna is actually sleeping
in the house. The one who is Yasoda Nandan only knows how to rear cows and
nothing else. Yasoda mayi was startled and she could not believe that there could
be two Krishna’s who were so identical in look and mannerisms. She immediately
rushed to her house and found that her son was sleeping peacefully after a long
and tired day of cow grazing.

Yasoda Mayi now came back to Radharani with a suggestion. She told Radharani
that my son Yasodanandan is also a great dancer and that we should have a
competition amongst the two Krishnas at her house. Radharani said that if the two
Krishnas danced together it will be very difficult to decipher which Krishna
belonged to Yasoda and which one belonged to Radharani. Yasoda Mayi replied
that she would make some difference in their appearance so that it would be
easier to decipher.RadhaRani then cast a crescent moon over the head of Her
Krishna so that He could be differentiated easily. However Radharani felt that the
risk factor of losing Krishna in the dance was still very high. In the end she obliged
and they went to Yasoda Mayi’s house to organize the spectacle. The two
Krishnas started dancing with great gaiety and elegance. Everybody was enjoying.
As the dance reached its zenith, both Krishnas merged into one. This Krishna was
having the crescent on His head.RadhaRani then said that the dance has ended
and that she was leaving with Her Krishna. Yasoda mayi could not believe her
eyes, she did not know what was happening and she pleaded Radharani to part
with her Krishna. Radharani told Yasoda Mayi that she had warned her before the
act and now she as helpless and she could not do much to help Yasoda Mayi.
Yasoda Mayi fell at Radharani’s feet and at that time the Lord winked at Radharani
and communicated to her that She would not believe that Yasoda Mayi could ever
fall at Her feet and the Lord through this Leela made it happen indicating that there
is no other devotee superior to Radharani and even Yasoda mayi was subservient
to Radharani in terms of unalloyed devotion to the Supreme Lord
