KOMPETENSI DASAR 3.1

Tujuan Pembelajaran

Toni : Hi Dimas.
Dimas : Hi Ton, what’s up? You look confused.
Toni : Yeah, actually I have a problem when I wanted to install the game that you gave, it couldn’t
be installed.
Dimas : Oh, I see. Have you followed the instructions correctly?
Toni : Yeah, I think so. I have followed the instructions one by one. However, at the end it couldn’t
be played. I thought something was wrong.
Dimas : Let me check for a while Ton. Please hand me your laptop.
Toni : Sure, here it is.
Dimas : Yap, I got it. Here is the problem Ton.
Toni : What’s the problem?
Dimas : Before you install the game, you need to turn off your antivirus as some files on the game
will be deleted automatically when the game is installed. So, make sure you turn it off first
and then you can install the game. Do you understand what I’m saying Ton?
Toni : Yeah, I understand what you are saying. I don’t know the antivirus will affect the installation
process.
Dimas : I’m sorry Ton that was my mistake because I didn’t tell you before.

C. Ekspresi Menghargai Kinerja (Memuji)

1. Materi Pembelajaran Reguler
Expression of Compliment and Its Response. It is wise for us to give praise to
someone on her / his general appearance, or if we notice something new about the person’s
appearance, or when we visit someone’s house for the first time, or when other people do
their best. The expression to give praise is called Compliment. So Compliment is an
expression that we show or say to express or give praise.
a. Fungsi Sosial
Untuk memberi apresiasi kepada orang lain.
b. Struktur Teks
Generally we use expression of compliment by formulating:
 How + Adjective + Noun
Example : How clever are you!
 What + Adjective + Noun
Example : What delicious food!
 What + a + Adjective + Noun
Example : What a beautiful view!
 c. Unsur Kebahasaan
 Kosa kata terkait dengan kondisi penampilan, personalityatau kepribadian .
 Tata bahasa: have, have got, need, may, can, will, dsb.
 Frasa nominal dengan adjective: a nice jacket, an excellent performance;
 Penggunaan nominal singular dan plural secara tepat, dengan atau tanpa a, the, this,
those, my, their, dsb secara tepat dalam frasa nominal

Untuk memberi pujian atau kekaguman kepada seseorang kita dapat menggunakan kalimat
kekaguman dengan menggunakan “How/What”. How atau what di sini bukan berarti kata
tanya atau question word tetapi berati “Alangkah, betapa atau sungguh”

Opinion intinya adalah pada kata opini dan argumen. Opini adalah pendapat sedangkan
argumen adalah alasan. Dialog opini adalah dialog yang saling mengutarakan pendapat
tentang satu hal. jadi masing masing punya opni sendiri-sendiri. Biasanya menggunakan kata
in my opinion, in my view, I thnk dan sebagainya. sedangkan dialog argumen adalah dialog
yang saling menyatakan argumen atau alasan alasan. biasanya menggunakan kata kta first,
second , dan seterusnya untuk mngurutkan argumenya
