Rio de Janeiro is Brazil’s second largest city and it’s the capital of Rio de
Janeiro state. The Portuguese came to Rio in 1502. More than six million  Moscow, Russia
people live there now. The city’s got a famous beach called Copacabana  Liverpool, UK
and there are beautiful mountains too.  New York City, United States
 Paris, France
There are a lot of cafés and restaurants where you can eat different kinds
of traditional Brazilian food. The city has got international restaurants too.  Philadelphia, United States
There are also many places to go shopping in Rio. You can buy jewellery  Tokyo, Japan
that’s quite cheap and in Santa Teresa you can buy art. In the city centre  Tripoli, Libya
there are many old buildings and you can see the city’s history.
The four-day Carnival is very popular and samba dancing is popular too. There’s a samba school in Rio between
October and January. In fact, you can enjoy Rio every month of the year!
