China, founded in 1956. For more than half a century, the SOH has created brilliant
artistic achievements, creating and performing many far-reaching operas, dance
dramas, musicals, choral concerts, songs and dances, etc. creating a batch of talented
creative and performing talents and making outstanding contributions to China's
cultural undertakings. In recent years, the SOH has been invited to Italy, Austria,
Germany, France, Finland, Sweden, Britain, the United States and other countries as
well as regions like Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan for tours. Its comprehensive
strength and performance level have been highly praised by local media, audiences
and the music circle.
The Shanghai Opera House adheres to the policy of creating both national originality
and world classics, focusing on national originality, and attaches great importance to
the cultivation of artistic and managerial talents, making it a beautiful cultural name
card matching Shanghai, an international metropolis.
The Shanghai Opera House has its opera troupe, choir, symphony orchestra, dance
ensemble and technical production team, and is now looking for excellent talents in
vocal, music and dance at home and abroad. Specific requirements are as follows.

QULIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s Degree and above, graduated from relevant majors of professional
music colleges and universities；
2. Passion for profession, proper behavior norm, and a developed interest in
performing arts;
3. Excellent professional competence, comprehensive development ability, good team
work ability and good stage appearance;
4. Excellent English proficiency, and can work in English-language work
environment, vocal performers also have the ability to spell Italian, French, German
and other languages.;
5. Under the age of 40, Excellent health condition.

Symphony Orchestra (17)
First violin 3, Assistant Principal Second violin 1, Second violin 1, Assistant
Principal Cello 1, Cello 1, Principal Double Bass 1, Double Bass 1, Principal flute
1, Oboe & Cor Anglais 1, Clarinet & bE clarinet & Bass clarinet 1, Principal
Trumpet 1, Horn (Be competent for the second or fourth part) 1, Bass trombone 1,
Timpani 1, Percussion 1.

3. Shanghai Opera House will conduct a preliminary election according to the video
received. The application form and the video clip must be authentic. If they are forged,
the applicant will be disqualified from the election. Those who pass the preliminary
election will receive a notice of approval one week before the audition.

AUDITION
1. Dates:
It is estimated to be held in April. The detailed schedule of the audition will be
announced later.
2. Venue:
Multi-Function Hall, Main Building, 100/10 Changshu Rd., Shanghai Opera House
3. Processes
Instrumental Music:
 – Self-chosen concerto, the first movement
– Compulsory: selected orchestra piece (see Attachment)
– Sight-playing

OTHER NOTICES
1. All applicants should arrive on time for the audition with the following documents
in one folder in order, including Application Form(Will send you through email), CV,
ID Card (copy), Certificate of Academic Degree (copy), Certificate of Awards (copy),
Recommendation Form of Employment for College Graduates (copy), Academic
Records and etc.
2. Applicants who pass the first round will be informed to take the second round on
the day of audition.
