NARCOTIC ENFORCEMENT TEAM ARRESTS FIVE INVOLVED
IN DRUG TRAFFICKING ORGANIZATION
March 21, 2019 (Oakland County, Mich.) – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic
Enforcement Team (NET) has dismantled a drug trafficking organization (DTO) which was operating
within Oakland County and the Metro Detroit region. Five arrests were made, and a large quantity of
narcotics was recovered as a result of the investigation.

A NET team comprised of investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, Farmington Hills Police Department,
and the West Bloomfield Police Department began their investigation in October 2018. It was discovered
the suspects, who were surveilled, were part of a large drug trafficking organization and were moving
large quantities of heroin and cocaine. Probable cause was obtained, and four search warrants were
executed in Pontiac, Southfield, and Eastpointe. The search warrants were served with the assistance of
the entire NET task force and participating agencies.

The search warrants resulted in the seizure of 1.5 kilos of cocaine, 1,022 grams of heroin and fentanyl
mix – 37 grams which was pure fentanyl, 600 grams of cutting agents, 20 pounds of marijuana, digital
scales, grinders, packaging material, a .40 caliber handgun, and $67,000 in US currency. The street value
of the seized narcotics totals over $500,000.

“I applaud the detailed and effective work of our NET Detectives,” said Sheriff Michael Bouchard.
“Dismantling this organized DTO took dangerous criminals and drugs off the streets where we live and
work. We will remain dedicated to investigating and prosecuting these death dealers to the fullest extent
of the law. At a time when opioid overdoses are among the leading cause of death in America, we will be
relentless in our efforts to arrest those profiting from the pain and death of others.”
