Biology

● Practicals​: (i) To prepare a temporary mount of the onion peel

(iii) To draw, observe and identify the characteristic features of Parenchyma, Collenchyma
and Sclerenchyma tissues
(iv) To draw, observe and identify the characteristic features of Voluntary , Involuntary and
cardiac muscles.
(v) To draw, observe and identify characteristic features of the neuron.
(vi) To study the characteristics and identifying features of the following specimens-
Spirogyra, Agaricus, Funaria, Fern, Pinus, Maize, Mustard, Earthworm, Cockroach, Bony
fish, Bird.
(vii) To study the external features of of root, stem, leaf and flower of monocot and dicot
plants.

Chemistry

● Practicals​: (i) To determine the melting point of ice and boiling point of water.
(ii) To prepare solution, colloid and suspension and distinguish between these on the basis of
transparency, stability and filtration criterion.
(iii) To prepare mixture, compound using iron & sulphur and distinguish between them on the
basis of appearance, behaviour towards magnet, and behaviour towards carbon disulphide.
(iv)To separate the components of mixture of sand, common salt and ammonium chloride by
sublimation.
(v) To carry out the chemical reactions and identify the type of reaction.(iron with copper
sulphate solution, burning of magnesium, zinc with dilute sulphuric acid, heating of copper
sulphate, reaction of solutions of sodium sulphate & barium chloride)
(vi)To verify the law of conservation of mass.
