    Abstract

    Color surrounds people every day in many ways. Rochester, Minnesota’s local artist Greg

    Wimmer has graced the walls of many businesses inside and out. There are many factors that

    Greg must consider when he starts a new mural. One of those factors is technique. The three

    techniques are A Fresco, Fresco – secco, and Mezzo- Fresco. Another factor that Greg must

    consider is the style of the mural. The four styles of murals are Traditional, graffiti, etic, and tile.

    Greg paints most of his murals in traditional style using the fresco – secco technique. Greg’s

    murals are in southeast Minnesota, as well as South Dakota and Denver, Colorado. One of

    Greg’s most prominently displayed mural was the one on CJ’s bar before they tore it down.

    Greg’s other work can be seen on the KROC radio station, Rochester Boy’s and Girl’s club, and

    Dunn Brothers Coffee. Greg ‘s sigh work can also be seen at these following locations: Kismet

    Central, Olmsted County Floor Mural, Mayo Civic center, The Tap House, and the label for

    Simple Soaps.
