ple. The temple located on the
shore is often chosen by Hindu
community in Bali for melukat

Typically, the purificatory
rite is commenced by self-puri-
fication using holy water in front
of the Lord Vishnu shrine. Af-
terward, the pilgrims immerse
themselves at the confluence of
the Ayung River and Padang-
galak Beach. Then, it is resumed
by taking a bath on the beach and in the sacred pool
of Beji Temple and say prayers to Lord Shiva in the
Shiva Bhuvana Chamber.
According to Gede Alit Adnyana, the temple
priest, every day there were pilgrims coming to do
purificatory rite, either the people of Bali or those
from outside the region and even overseas. To be
able to follow the ritual procession, the pilgrims did
not have to bring along a grandiose offerings. Simply
bring a canang sari oblation and a means of prayer to
invoke safety, purity and welfare. “Most importantly,
the oblation presented must be accompanied by sin-
cere heart,” he said.
The priest doubling as the founder of the Campu-
han Segara Windu also said the temple establishment
was inspired by a dream mandating him to stay at
Padanggalak. Since he had a confidence, he began
to make a living temporary shrine (turus lumbung)
from erythrina branches. “After that, we got a great
support from all the people so that the temple could
finally be realized as it is today,” he said.
The temple was built on July 7, 2005. The bud-
get was obtained from the sesari (oblation money)
of the pilgrims saying prayers in the temple. Mean-
while, the statues of gods having the nuance of mytho-
logical elements were donations from all the people,
even from Muslim, Buddhist and Christian fellows.
“People of various interfaith also donated some stat-
ues here,” he said.
On particular days, he explained, like Shiva Ratri
was the piodalan or anniversary of the Campuhan
Windu Segara Temple. On the temple anniversary, all
the effigies or sacred objects as well as the two barong
effigies venerated at the Beji Ayung Temple were per-
formed. Similarly, there was also a special ceremony
known as the Sapuleger staged every Banyu Pinaruh
Gangga Pratista. “At that time, thousands of pilgrims
came to pray and invoke safety and welfare,” he said.
Indeed, the temple looked more unique with the
presence of statues of gods and the nuance of mytho-
logical stories. Some of the statues were the Ganesha,
Shiva, Goddess Durga, Goddess Kwan Im, Kanjeng
Ratu Kidul and Goddess Rambut. Meanwhile, the
barong effigy was venerated in the Beji Ayung Gang-
ga Pratista Temple. “Every temple ceremony, the bar-
ong is staged. Aside from functioned as symbol, the
existing statues also aim to preserve the culture,” he

2017. “The program aims to
facilitate Indonesian teachers to
teach environmentally-based edu-
cation to young people through
innovative teaching strategies.
This can be implemented both
inside and outside classroom,”

features the theme ‘Inculcating

School community in Bali. Green
School has been holding GEC
since 2013 with hundreds of par-
ticipants from twenty countries,
including America, Australia, the
Netherlands, Japan, China and
Cambodia.
GEC in Bahasa Indonesia, ex-
plained Tirka Widanti, has some
uniqueness. Firstly, it is in line
with the government of Indonesia
having integrated thematic con-

also has a tourist attraction in the form of Hobbit House.

This tiny house has a unique design. The materials
in use are not concrete, but coffee trunks, bamboo, tree

Hibachi Voyage has some
prominent menus such as Wagyu
Kagoshima, Omakase consisting
of several items such as scallop,

condition and we cook

teach environmentally-based edu-
cation to young people through

This can be implemented both
inside and outside classroom,”

features the theme ‘Inculcating
the concept of Environmental

School has been holding GEC
since 2013 with hundreds of par-
ticipants from twenty countries,
including America, Australia, the

with the government of Indonesia

this unique tradition was also

retary of Badung district, Wayan
Adi Arnawa.
The ritual was followed by all
Kapal customary villagers. All
the villagers were then divided
into two camps, namely the
northern camp and southern
camp. At first, the two camps
held a ceremony in the temple
and were then resumed with
worship at the outermost court-
yard of the Desa/Puseh temple
of Kapal. Thousands of tipat and
bantal were prepared by the
temple apparatus. After dividing
them, they were thrown each
other like a war accompanied
with bleganjur gamelan music.

ritual having been carried out

ple. The temple located on the
shore is often chosen by Hindu
community in Bali for melukat

the body from impurities.
Typically, the purificatory
rite is commenced by self-puri-
fication using holy water in front
of the Lord Vishnu shrine. Af-
terward, the pilgrims immerse
themselves at the confluence of
the Ayung River and Padang-
galak Beach. Then, it is resumed
by taking a bath on the beach and in the sacred pool
of Beji Temple and say prayers to Lord Shiva in the
Shiva Bhuvana Chamber.
According to Gede Alit Adnyana, the temple
priest, every day there were pilgrims coming to do
purificatory rite, either the people of Bali or those
from outside the region and even overseas. To be
able to follow the ritual procession, the pilgrims did
not have to bring along a grandiose offerings. Simply
bring a canang sari oblation and a means of prayer to
invoke safety, purity and welfare. “Most importantly,
the oblation presented must be accompanied by sin-
cere heart,” he said.
The priest doubling as the founder of the Campu-
han Segara Windu also said the temple establishment
was inspired by a dream mandating him to stay at
Padanggalak. Since he had a confidence, he began
to make a living temporary shrine (turus lumbung)
from erythrina branches. “After that, we got a great
support from all the people so that the temple could
finally be realized as it is today,” he said.
The temple was built on July 7, 2005. The bud-
get was obtained from the sesari (oblation money)
of the pilgrims saying prayers in the temple. Mean-
while, the statues of gods having the nuance of mytho-
logical elements were donations from all the people,
even from Muslim, Buddhist and Christian fellows.
“People of various interfaith also donated some stat-
ues here,” he said.
On particular days, he explained, like Shiva Ratri
was the piodalan or anniversary of the Campuhan
Windu Segara Temple. On the temple anniversary, all
the effigies or sacred objects as well as the two barong
effigies venerated at the Beji Ayung Temple were per-
formed. Similarly, there was also a special ceremony
known as the Sapuleger staged every Banyu Pinaruh
Gangga Pratista. “At that time, thousands of pilgrims
came to pray and invoke safety and welfare,” he said.
Indeed, the temple looked more unique with the
presence of statues of gods and the nuance of mytho-
logical stories. Some of the statues were the Ganesha,
Shiva, Goddess Durga, Goddess Kwan Im, Kanjeng
Ratu Kidul and Goddess Rambut. Meanwhile, the
barong effigy was venerated in the Beji Ayung Gang-
ga Pratista Temple. “Every temple ceremony, the bar-
ong is staged. Aside from functioned as symbol, the
