Customizing Vehicles in 2D and 3D

PARTICIPANT Q&A

1. How do you add axles for a truck in 2d? These values are always “grayed” out and not able to be revised?
To add axles to a truck in 2D, make a copy of vehicle to be modified first and then you will be able to reconfigure
it. Guideline vehicles are “locked” to prevent any change to the original model. Feel free to contact our staff at
support@transoftsolutions.com for more guidance.

2. How do you lock a vehicle so that it can’t be revised?

All vehicles in the standard vehicle library are locked to prevent any alterations to the original values associated
with the vehicle. Users with an Advanced permission level or higher, can lock custom vehicles to prevent
revisions.

3. I need to make a dolly train for indoor use but must create it from scratch?
You can use the methods showcased in the webinar to create a vehicle from scratch. Kindly contact
support@transoftsolutions.com for more information about permission levels.

4. Is the webinar recording available for future viewing?

Yes, we will send a link via email to access the recording of the presentation. You can also view all the past
webinars from Transoft Solutions at www.transoftsolutions.com/webinars.

5. My AutoTURN does not have the same options to make and edit vehicles as shown. Is there something that
I need to do with my company to be able to use these tools?
Standard or higher permission levels are required to enable creating or editing vehicles. Your permission level
may be set to Basic. Version 10.2 is required to perform vehicle part swapping. If you are using an older version,
feel free to contact: sales@transoftsolutions.com for further guidance.

6. Will AutoTURN be able to detect any clash between vehicles and ground surface?
AutoTURN Pro can detect conflicts between the 3D vehicle envelope and the ground surface (terrain) as well as
over-head obstacles.

7. Can you help create a vehicle if I don’t know all the vehicle specifications?
It’s best to have all the dimensions, turning characteristics and/or the blueprint of the vehicle to make the
process easier. Our Project Support Services engineers can assist you even when you have missing information.
You can contact them at pss@transoftsolutions.com.
