MAINTENANCE MANUAL

1. General
A. This section gives the procedure to supply pneumatic power to the aircraft through one of the
engines or the APU.
C. The abbreviations and acronyms used in this section are given in the sequence below:

C. Job Set-Up
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS IN A SAFE CONDITION BEFORE YOU DO THE
MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES. THIS IS TO PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/
OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: STAY AT A SAFE DISTANCE FROM THE ENGINE AIR INTAKE AND EXHAUST AREAS
DURING THE START AND GROUND OPERATIONS. THESE AREAS ARE
DANGEROUS. IF YOU STAY NEAR THEM, INJURIES CAN OCCUR TO YOU.
CAUTION: KEEP THE AREA ADJACENT TO THE AIRCRAFT CLEAN, WITHOUT STONES,
CLOTHES, TOOLS, OR OTHER OBJECTS OR FLUIDS WHICH CAN GO INTO THE
ENGINE.
SUBTASK 860-001-A
(1) Do the procedure to make the aircraft safe for maintenance (AMM TASK
20-00-00-910-801-A/200 ).
(2) On the overhead panel, on the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel, set these
switches as follows:
• PACK 1 OFF (unlatched)
(b) On the overhead panel, on the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel, set the
BLEED 1 switch to the latched (auto) position (a striped bar goes out of view).
(b) On the overhead panel, on the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel, set the
BLEED 2 switch to the latched (auto) position (a striped bar goes out of view).
E. Job Close-Up

(1) On the overhead panel, on the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel, set these
switches to the unlatched (off) position (a striped bar comes into view), as applicable:
• BLEED1
• BLEED2
• XBLEED
(2) Stop the left or right engine (AMM TASK 71-00-01-910-806-A/200 ), as applicable.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS IN A SAFE CONDITION BEFORE YOU DO THE

WARNING: DO NOT OPERATE THE APU NEAR FLAMMABLE MATERIALS OR FUEL VENT.
EXPLOSION CAN OCCUR.

(1) Do the procedure to make the aircraft safe for maintenance (AMM TASK
20-00-00-910-801-A/200 ).
(2) On the overhead panel, on the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel, set these
switches as follows:
• PACK 1 OFF (unlatched)
WARNING: USE EAR PROTECTION DURING THE APU OPERATION. VERY HIGH
NOISES CAN CAUSE INJURY TO YOUR EARS.
(3) Start the APU (AMM TASK 49-10-00-910-801-A/200 ).
