c. Instructional Materials: Picture of a mountain, picture of someone
climbing, manila paper, pen/pencil, pad paper, cartolina, coloring
materials.
III. Procedure:
a. Pre-Reading
i. Motivation
1. Have students arrange puzzle to make a picture.
2. Relate the ideas, perceptions and descriptions using the
pictures.
Picture 1 – Mountain
Question: Have you ever been to a mountain? Where? What was your experience?
Picture 2 – Climbing
Question: What action is being done here? What do usually climb? Have you ever been rock
wall climbing, mountain climbing, etc?
ii. Concept Mapping
1. Use a word web to enumerate all the words that can relate to the
term.

b. Reading Proper: Have one student read each paragraph. The rest silently read.
c. Post reading:
i. Show class a picture of Mt. Halcon. Explain what ‘above sea level’
means. Describe what it’s like to climb a mountain.
ii. Comprehension check:
