Semi-Detailed lesson plan in Practical Research-1

I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

• Illustrate the importance of qualitative research across fields.

•Decide on suitable qualitative research in different areas of interest.

•Formulate a topic for qualitative research in a chosen field of interest.

II. Subject Matter:

Importance of and steps in doing qualitative research.

III. Procedure:

A. Preparation:

B. Motivation:

Okay students, let’s have an imaginary trip, try to imagine that you are a carpenter who wants to build a
house. In building your house what is the first thing you must do?

C. Presentation:

* Our topic this morning is all about Importance of and steps in doing qualitative research.

D. Discussion:

Qualitative research methods are becoming popular in medical and allied health fields nowadays. While
it is still debatable how qualitative research can help address clinical questions, there is a wealth of
knowledge that can be gained using the data provided by qualitative approaches.

In behavioral and social sciences, qualitative research involves the understanding of attitudes and
behavior of groups of people. Ultimately, qualitative approaches in these fields of study can solicit
understanding and meaning to the complex human experiences a processes.

Qualitative research is also important in natural sciences. It is basically qualitative data that are gathered
first in any scientific investigation through observation. From these observation, you can infer
predictions as basis for interpretations.

Steps in qualitative research

1. Identification of the phenomenon to be studied.

2. Identification of the participants in the study.

3. Generalization of hypothesis.

4. Data Collection.

5. Data analysis.

6. Interpretations and conclusions.

Formulate a topic for qualitative research in a chosen field of interest given below:

The students must finish it for 10 minutes and after that, students will read their work in front

music. He has studied the life stories of Beethoven and Mozart. In his research, he also made a
comparison of the two composers in terms of family background, hobbies, compositions, and
inspirations for their compositions.
