Organization Description

❖ Lingua Artes
❖ Establish in 1975 in Maywood
❖ Formed by 4 contributors
➢ Jay Gatsby, Robert, Samantha, Edward
❖ Our mission is to help foreign speaking people understand the English language and teach
our students skills that they could benefit in time of crisis
Goals & Objectives
❖ We seek to help people with little to no english speaking knowledge
❖ Proceed by teaching life skills as well
❖ Want to ensure that the community is well understanding of what is happening in their english
speaking nation and city
➢ Will become more involved
❖ Help by trying to raise their income
➢ Most employers will not hire due to the lack education and the english language
❖ By the end of the program they will learn unique skills that are meant to further their knowledge
of aspects of saving a person's life and future jobs
Current Situation/Data
❖ Stats show that most of our residents go straight into the workforce either when they graduate high
school or drop out -2015 survey of Latinos with immigrant parents, among them 50% were bilingual
❖ Our program will help out the growth of the economy within the city and hopefully neighboring cities as
well
❖ By showing hispanic students

expanding their chances of
higher positions we hope to
have less janitors and more
managers.

❖ Our first thought of a program was to offer a way to assist
people into finding a job
➢ This will help those who do not like school and only care for
working
➢ Add more workers to the workforce
➢ Reduce the amount of poverty in the area
❖ We soon came up with the idea of helping others become
more independent

❖ We will soon come to a conclusion to open the program to the public
