OBAMA LORDS OVER LATINOS AS A

“KING”
Incumbent Democrats Expect a Coronation, but Latinos Came to the U.S. to Escape the Dictates of a King

Washington, D.C.— President Obama, speaking on Univision Radio this week, when asked
about his broken promise to pursue immigration reform in his first year, responded, “I am
president, I am not king. I can’t do these things just by myself.”

“Latinos are thankful that we live in a democracy, which will allow us to vote out of office the do-
nothing Democrats such as Senator Barbara Boxer who have rallied behind President Obama’s
agenda of abandoning Latinos,” said Alfonso Aguilar, executive director of the Latino
Partnership for Conservative Principles. “The mark of a good leader is someone who leads,
not blames others for not getting the job done.”

“Many Latinos came to this country to escape the dictatorships of Central and South America.
They are tired of the President and Democrats holding immigration reform hostage and
undermining the values and institutions that Latinos hold dear—values such as respect for life and
institutions such as the family, and family-owned businesses,” said Mr. Aguilar.

“Some Democrats may bemoan the fact that the President does not hold king-like power, but they
must also realize that the failure to introduce an immigration bill rests squarely on their shoulders.
With possession of the White House and overwhelming majorities in both houses of Congress,
Democrats were given a chance to fix our broken immigration system in their own way and instead
chose to push for their own priorities, leaving Latinos disappointed.”

“Latinos are rightfully angered that the President has broken his promise to them, and that
Democrats stood by and watched him ignore their issues. That’s why Latinos should support
conservative Republican candidates this November – such as Carly Fiorina in California – who will
do something on comprehensive immigration reform, candidates who will also share and promote
the institutions and values that matter most to Latinos.”

The Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles promotes conservative values and ideals
within the Latino community and works to integrate Latinos into fuller and more active participation
and leadership in the conservative movement. It is an initiative of American Principles In Action,
a 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to preserving and propagating the fundamental principles on
which our country was founded. It aims to return our nation to an understanding that governance
via these timeless principles will strengthen us as a country.
