Transmission Control Valves

SMCS - 3152-11; 3152-12

Remove Transmission Control Valves

start by:

a) separation of transmission from transfer gear

b) remove transmission pump

1. Remove control valve cover plate.

2. Remove two hydraulic control fastening bolts and install two 5/16"-18NC guide pins (2). Remove
the other fastening bolts.

3. Remove pressure control valve (1).

4. Remove the plate (3).

NOTE: For installation mark the locations of cam and lever assembly on shaft.

5. Remove spring (4) from detent assembly.

6. Remove fastening bolts and nuts from lever (6) and cam (7).

7. Remove shaft (5) out of transmission case, while removing lever and cam.

8. Remove selector valve group (9).

NOTICE

Do not let valve spools drop from valve when removing valve group.

9. Remove plate (8) and two guide pins (2).

10. Remove two sleeves (10) out the side of the transmission case. Remove flange (13) and remove
sleeve (12).

11. Remove the bolts (14) that hold manifold (11) to the transmission.

12. Remove manifold (11) and three sleeves as a unit.

13. Remove sleeve (18) from clutch housing.

14. Remove the bolts and nuts that hold cam (15) and lever (16) to shaft (17).

15. Remove shaft, cam, spring and lever from the transmission case.

16. Use a punch to remove control shaft seals from transmission case.

17. Remove the four bearings for the two control shafts from the transmission case with tool setup
(A).

18. Remove the bolts that hold the manifold (19) to transmission clutch housing. Remove manifold.

Install Transmission Control Valves

1. Install O-rings in clutch housing and install manifold (1).

2. Install four control shaft bearings in transmission case with tool group (A).

3. Install control shaft seals in transmission case with tool group (B).

4. Install shaft (2), cam (3), spring and lever (4) in the transmission case.

5. Install the bolts and nuts that hold cam and lever to shaft.

6. Install O-ring seals on sleeve (5) and install sleeve.

7. Install six O-ring seals (6) in clutch housing.

8. Install manifold (7) and three sleeves as a unit.

9. Install bolts that hold manifold to clutch housing.

10. Install three sleeves and flange on side of transmission.

11. Install guide pins (8) and plate (9).

12. Install selector valve group (10).

13. Install cam (12), lever (13) and shaft (11) in case.

14. Install bolts and nuts that hold cam and lever to shaft. Tighten nut to 25 ± 3 lb.ft. (31,5 ± 0,41
mkg).

15. Install spring on detent assembly.

16. Install the plate (14).

17. Install the pressure control valve (15).

18. Install bolts that hold valve, then remove two guide pins. Tighten bolts to 22 ± 3 lb.ft. (3,0 ± 0,41
mkg).

19. Install cover (16).

end by:

a) install transmission pump
