ACTIVITY GUIDELINES

February 22, 2019 (6:00-9:00pm)

I. PICK TO PEACE
Mechanics:
1. This is just for fun!
2. Participants will be selected randomly through fish bowl method.
3. They will then be asked of different questions to answer and will be rated according to
its relevance, substance, and value to the question given.

II. SLOGAN MAKING CONTEST

Mechanics:

1. There will be 1 participant per school.

2. The entry should depict the theme of JSWAP LTS 2019.
3. The participants will use 1 whole illustration board.
4. Committee will provide the Illustration boards while the coloring materials, markers and pens
will be provided by each school.
5. Each participant will be given 1and 30 minutes to finish their entry.
6. There will be 2 points deduction per judge in every 5 seconds overtime.

III. ESSAY WRITING

Mechanics:

1. There will be 1 participant per school. Topic of the essay writing will be given at the start of
the competition
2. Yellow pads and pens will be provided by the committee to every participant.
3. The use of foul words, verified by the committee will be disqualified.
4. Each participant will be given 1 hour to finish their entry.
5. There will be 2 points deductions per judge in every 5 seconds overtime.

IV. THE VOICE OF JSWAP

February 22, 2019 (6:30 – 10:00 pm)

Solo Category

Rubrics:

1. All participating schools must have one representative. Hence, open to all gender.
2. The time performance is limited to 3:30 – 4:00 minutes, otherwise a song length
penalty will be observed. (minus 2 points if it will take longer than 4:00 minutes)
3. Solo performers are allowed to bring their own instrument as an accompaniment.
(Guitar for example)
4. Solo performers must prepare their ready-to-play music or minus one saved in a flash
drive and submit it to the assigned committee before the competition proper.
5. Performers are allowed to render an original song or not so long as it has the
relevance to the theme.

CRITERIA:

Choice of Song: Song is a good fit for singers’ abilities and vocal qualities 10%
Voice Quality: tonality, appropriateness to genre, & technique 50%
Style & Performance: rendition qualities, discipline, timing & precision, choreography, delivery
& interpretation, & staging 30%
Over-all Appeal: stage appeal, audience impact & costume 10%

V. JSWAP RUNWAY 2019 (Mr & Ms & Mx Ambassador of Peace)

February 23, 2019 (6:00 – 9:00 pm)

Rubrics:

1. All participants must wear their best casual/formal attire as the theme suggests “Glitz
and Glamour” and will be given a chance to walk on the runway.
2. All participants are entitled to win the title therefore, no one is exempted. Open to all
gender.
3. The judges will now select the best Top 10 participants (10 from the males, 10 from
the females, and another 10 for the Mx), and will be requested again to walk on the
runway for the selection of the Top 5.
4. After the announcement of the Top 10, they will be given random questions by the
board of judges and must answer it legibly. From the Top 10, Top 5 will be selected
based on their performance in the Q and A, and will proceed to the final round for
another Q and A.
5. Selection of the Mr & Ms & Mx JSWAP Ambassador of Peace will be at the
discretion of the board of judges

VI. PARADE FOR PEACE

February 24, 2019 (6:00 – 7:00 AM)

Rubrics:
 Everyone is required to join the parade.
 Each school must show/portray their commitment towards peace through hand props
and of wearing the JSWAP shirt
 Props are only limited to light props only. (Ex. Pompoms, flaglets etc.)
 Protocols for line-up of dignitaries and officials are to be followed.
 Changes in the parade line-up on the day of the parade will be at the sole discretion of
the parade officials.
