“ Effect of Paclitaxel on the expression of STAT3 and

Project : Cyclin D1 in breast cancer cells”

Experience: Study about the mRNA expression of STAT3 and its

downstream target Cyclin D1 in breast cancer cells prior to
and after paclitaxel treatment.

Achievement: Preliminary study suggests an effect on cell integrity,

apoptosis and DNA in paclitaxel induces breast cancer cells
though no considerable effect on the RNA expression.

2. Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB)

Project: “Involvement of Cyclin D1 in the apoptosis appealed from

the combination of plumbagin and doxorubicin in BRCA1
null breast tumors”

Experience: Responsible for assisting Senior Research Scientist in their research

in breast cancer. Responsible to collect data and conduct
experiment on two different cell lines by using the combination
therapy in different concentration. Western blotting for the analysis
of proteins and MTT Assay method used to confirm the inhibitory
effect.

Achievement: Particular study reveals that combination therapy which is (Dox +

Plumbagin) decreased 50% of cell survival rate in concentration
and time dependant manner.
