Remember, if you really want to improve your English, you must practise as much

Cómo estructurar un monólogo

Si estás preparando un monólogo para un examen oral oficial, por ejemplo, en la


Escuela Oficial de Idiomas, o en cualquier otra institución, esta explicación te
puede venir bien. No se trata de hablar simplemente, sino de estructurar tu
intervención correctamente, utilizando una serie de phrases que den cohesión y
calidad a tu monólogo.

Os voy a poner aquí una guía que pueden utilizar tanto alumnos de B1 como de
B2.

1) DIVIDIR TU MONÓLOGO

 I’ve divided my presentation/speech/monologue/ into three/four main parts.

2) TO GRAB THE ATTENTION OF THE AUDIENCE, YOU MAY EMPLOY

 Rhetoricalquestions

Remember that when you ask a rhetorical question you don’t have to answer it, it’s
just used to make the audience think and make your topic more interesting.

saludos
en primer lugar felicidades por el articulo. la semana pasada me dieron las notas del b2, quinto
de la escuela de idiomas. He suspendido el speaking, mi profesor dice que debo mejorar un poco
la entonación y que dije varias expresiones traducidas directamente del español…como podría
mejorar de aquí a septiembre? me paso todo el dia viendo películas y series en vose,
escuchando música en ingles, he quedado con personas extranjeras para practicar aunque esto
ultimo no siempre me es posible…no sequemas hacer.

Hola Gonzalo,
siento que no hayas aprobado el speaking. Déjame que te dé mi opinión, modesta
opinión. El tema de ver películas y series en inglés me parece muy buena idea, viene
genial para hacer oído, acostumbrarse al inglés oído, a la rapidez del discurso
hablado, a la entonación, así como para aprender vocabulario y lenguaje informal.
Pero el speaking es otra historia, ahí debes practicar mucho oral para coger fluidez y
cuando uno tiene un examen, aunque todo esta práctica es importante, es igual de
importante que la persona con la que hablas te pueda corregir los errores. Si hablas
con personas extranjeras pero casi no te corrigen tus errores, cogerás fluidez, pero no
eliminarás tus posibles errores, que te pueden perjudicar en el examen. Hay alumnos
que me comentan que al hablar con nativos no les corrigen los errores, y si lo hacen,
en menor medida, no como un profesor te corregiría. Yo siempre digo que hacer un
examen oral de inglés es como el examen de conducir, hay que entrenarse para
hacer ese examen en particular, tener en cuenta lo que no hay que hacer porque el
examinador no te va a pasar, etc. Yo te aconsejo que busques un profesor que te
pueda preparar el speaking para septiembre, te ayude en la gramática que debes
utilizar en nivel b2, te ayude con la pronunciación y la entonación, etc. Y es
importante que el profesor tenga experiencia en la preparación del examen en la EOI.
