To Whom It May Concern,

I wish to apply for the work experience program in 2019 at your engineering consultant. I am looking for work experience
not only to gain experience and see what it is like to work in the engineering industry but also to gain new skills. I am
currently in year 10 studying at Bacchus Marsh Grammar and the subjects I am undertaking are:
- English - Health/PE
- Mathematical Methods - Mathematics Extension II
- Wood Technology ​III​ - Furniture - Australian & World Wars
- Biology - Understanding food
- Chemistry - Photography II
- Food for the future

I would like to undertake my work experience at Arup as I want to gain a better knowledge of what different areas of
engineering involves. Even though, I have not yet narrowed down a career that I want to pursue, engineering has always
been an option that I’ve wanted to explore. Being given this opportunity will assist me to narrow down my dream career. I
like to build things, figure out how things work, taking things apart and putting it back together and finding out what make
things tick.
Arup has helped shaped the Victorian State for the past 40 years and if I was to become an engineer, I would love to
work at Arup as it makes room for not only new but also experienced engineers to grow and learn new things.

I believe that I am suitable candidate as I am a reliable, hardworking and enjoy working in teams but am also capable of
working on my own. Since the start of high school, I have accomplished the following achievements:
- Earned a 75% scholarship at Bacchus Marsh Grammar from year 9 to year 12
- Received Academic Excellence and Outstanding Effort for the past 3 years
- Involved in the year 2 Morning Reading Program for the past year
- Member of the Student Representative Council for 4 years
- Successful team member of the school volleyball and badminton teams for 3 years

I do not have a specific area or department I would like to be placed in and can work with rotated areas.
I am able to do undertake the work experience program on the following dates:
- Term 1 holidays (if possible): 8​th​ April - 19​th​ April
- Term 2 holidays: 24​th​ June - 12​th​ July
- Term 3 holidays: 30​th​ September - 4​th​ October
