This week I began working on Monday, because I was out of town this weekend.

Monday started out slow, which isn’t abnormal for the urgent care. We got a work-related injury

first thing in the morning. I am becoming very comfortable with identifying which injuries will

need stitches or not. We also got a lot of colds and sore throats this week. Allergies are picking

up, which is causing post-nasal drip and sore throats as a result. We are finally moving past flu

season, so hopefully we start getting a variation from this point on. I am very familiar with what

the flu looks like, as well as what strep looks like since I began during the most prominent time

of the year.

I was able to complete my presentation last week in front of Candace, my internship’s

site supervisor, and some patients that had come in early to the office. I presented my

PowerPoint to them along with the flyers that were made for the project. I had a few typos in the

PowerPoint, which caused me to lose a few points. However, it went very well, and I am happy

that I am done with the project and presentation. I am excited to finish out these last few months

of the internship, and then begin pursuing something that I am more passionate about after

graduation. I just completed registration, so this summer I will be back in classes for my next

degree.
As far as hours go, I am right on track with needing to complete 32 hours a week for the

480 total hours. I am hoping that in the next two weeks I can get ahead of the hours, so that I can

have lighter weeks or days when I am working my other job at Pure Taqueria as a hostess. This

internship has really taught me how to time manage and have strong work ethic. I am leaving this

internship with more professional skills than I had coming into it.

Everyone that I have been working with has been great. I am really close and comfortable

working with Dr. Dennis, Mary, and John. The front desk employees, Amber and Kelcey, have

also continued to be kind and helpful to me during my internship. Roswell Urgent Care

constantly has new interns, most being high school students, but it is fun to hear what they plan

on doing as careers. The employees here will be great professional contacts, and I am glad that

my internship site has such a great staff.
