Executive Summary
ABB has a comprehensive range of products that are specifically designed for Microgrid & distributed
generation applications. These products have been developed with over 25 years’ experience for such
projects in Global.

The proposed system is based on ABB’s microgrid and renewable integration technology, featuring the
PowerStore system. The specific integration technology for the project has already been engineered and
deployed in similar microgrid projects worldwide.

ABB can offer battery system with maximum 2C rate (30 mins back-up). Requirement of 1MW/250kWh for
Site-1 requires 4C rate battery and ABB will not be able to quote for this requirement. We can offer
1MW/500kWh system for this requirement as well.

The key highlights of our solution are

• Proven system from a leader in microgrid installations worldwide.

• The proposed solution is based on a containerised solution with all the required power for the
project thus optimizing required civil works, site works, as well as transportation costs.
• ABB’s microgrid technology was designed for flexibility and can be easily extended at a future
stage without the need for extensive reengineering (numerous possibilities such as
integration of additional battery energy storage, diesel generators, additional renewable
power sources etc.).

ABB is confident that this solution meets the technical requirements associated with the smoothing of
renewable energy. We remain at your disposal for any clarification needed about the technology or this
proposal. This document contains the technical description and pricing for the ABB Microgrid Offer.

 Scope of Supply and Technical Offer.
1.1 Containerised Solution - Scope of supply – PowerStore, Battery and M+
System

Microgrid Plus (M+) System

Supply of following Microgrid Plus system items as part of the PowerStore

container:

‒ One (1) x Control cabinet

‒ One (1) x MGC-E Controller for PowerStore Battery
‒ One (1) x 10.4” HMI touch screen
‒ One (1) x Ethernet Switch
‒ One (1) x Battery PLC

Note: Portable type system is not recommended by Li-Ion battery manufacturers. Therefore, we did not
quote the same.

1.2 Exclusions
The scope of supply does not include any equipment not explicitly mentioned in this offer, such as

‒ Auxiliary Transformers and aux power to containers and controllers

‒ MV/LV switchgears
‒ Any controller for PV Plant, DG, 33kV switchgear feeders, synchronising equipment, etc.,
‒ SCADA system for complete system
‒ Any kind of external cabling (Power, control and communication), cable trenches, etc. including
external cables between ABB supplied equipment.
‒ Any outdoor Fibre optic cable, communication equipment’s or remote end connection
equipment’s.
‒ External Earthing and lighting system
‒ Lightning protection system
‒ Any kind of civil and structural work including foundation, cable trenches, stairs for containers,
etc.,
‒ Any kind of System Study, Site visits, System Audit or Site Audit.
‒ Verification of any primary equipment, Inverter or any other device not supplied under this offer

 ‒ Any services (engineering, configuration, modification, …) at the Network control centre or
central control room
‒ Inspections factory visits and/or witness inspection of third party (pre-shipment inspection, …)
‒ Any Site installation works.
‒ Maintenance 3 years shall be taken care by Bhandari Enterprise , technically supported by ABB for
any fault on chargeable basis.

In general, any items not included or specified in this offer will be treated as a departure from the scope of
supply and variation(s) will be provided upon confirmation from either party.

1.3 Scope of Engineering and Other Services

The scope of engineering & other services includes:

‒ Functional Design Specification for PowerStore, Battery and M+ Control System.

‒ Design, Engineering and Testing of One (1) PowerStore Containers.
‒ Design, Engineering and Testing of M+ Control System

1.4 Control System Functionalities

PowerStore Battery offered for this projects has below functionalities

‒ Bi-directional control of real and reactive power

‒ Independent real and reactive power control
‒ Black Start
‒ Standalone

1.5 Assumptions
The following assumptions are made in preparing this offer:

‒ PCS100 inverters are designed to provide rated power at unity pf at PCS Terminals at rated voltage
and at 50 Deg.C
‒ Battery capacity is beginning of life design capacity.
‒ The PCS100 and Electrical Switchboard will be integrated in India and will undergo low power test
without battery system.
‒ Others to provide power to the 400V LV terminals of the main auxiliary power distribution within
the PowerStore™ container.
‒ No allowance for any client’s operator training
‒ No allowance for transportation to site, any unloading and installation of the container onsite.
‒ No allowance for any cabling outside the supplied equipment
‒ No allowance for lifting or handling device for PCS inverters.
‒ No allowance for load banks, DG sets, etc., for field commissioning tests
‒ EPC to provide reliable aux power to local MGC controllers, which are located PV Plant.
‒ No allowance for O&M services and spares
‒ No allowance for any engineering and/or other service which includes but not limited to
‒ Any remote engineering works
‒ Client factory visit and/or witness inspection of third party
‒ 3Years Maintenance: considered from the date of commissioning and shall be provided service if
any fault occurred against extended warranty. There is no preventive maintenance required except
dust cleaning.
‒ Guarantee 10 years: Since the product design life is more than 10 years, no separate extended
warranty is considered for the same.

1.6 Pointwise clarification:

1. Scope of Work: ABB will supply the system and commissioning at site. Installation of container
and AC & DC cable laying up to container shall be excluded from ABB scope.
2. System shall be offered in CAPAX mode.
3. Maintenance of system: As per tender, system shall be maintained for 3 years from the date of
commissioning if there is any problem in function of the system.
4. Our proposed system is containerized outdoor type integrated solution. Lifting of container can
also be provided and system can be transport without battery. Since Li-Ion battery is supplied in
module in-built Battery Management System(BMS) that assembled in the form of rack. It is very
difficult to transport from one location of other in powered condition. However, the system can be
transport without battery that shall be transport separately. Therefore, it is recommended to
consider stationary type system.
5. Guarantee of BESS: A declaration shall be provided regarding functionality of system for
10 years from the date of the commissioning.
6. Remote Access: Complete system can be remotely controlled, supervised and diagnosed
remotely. Charging, discharging, starting, stopping, scheduling and complete monitoring is
supported.
7. Remote Monitoring: Solution has a gateway that can be interfaced and integrated with CESC
LAN/WAN. Or optionally using a 3G SIM that can directly make it available from anywhere in the
world over internet.
8. Lightening Protection: It is not required for the containerized solution. Existing CESC lightning
protection for their system is enough.

1.7 Validity
Quotation is valid for Thirty (30) days from the date stated within this proposal. The tendered price is
subject to 100% exchange variation if the exchange rate deviates from the offer date to the time of order
placement. ABB retains the right to adjust the price at the time of order according to the rates applicable
at that time.

1.8 Delivery Time

ABB PowerStoreTM Container and M+ Control System - estimated lead time from order acknowledgement
subject to stock availability. All lead times to be confirmed at order placement as follows

· Container solution - 30 weeks from the date of drawing approval

1.8.1 Warranty
We shall repair or replace at our option, free of cost, whole or any portion of
material, which under normal or proper use and maintenance proves defective in material and/or
workmanship within 12 months from the date of commissioning or 18 months from the date of dispatch
of material whichever is earlier, provided prompt notice is given of such defects.
Such replacements shall be affected within a reasonable time required to do so.

Notwithstanding anything contained herein, our liability arising out of supplying the material or its use,
whether warranties or otherwise, shall not in any case exceed the cost of correcting the defects or
replacements of the defective material and upon expiration of the warranty period, all such liabilities shall
terminate.

All replacements under this clause shall be made ex-works of the respective manufacturers. All to and
fro freight charges shall be to your account.

Except as expressly provided hereunder, the Seller disclaims, all implied warranties including warranties for
merchantability and fitness for purpose.

1.8.2 Terms of payment
10% of the ex-works price as interest free advance along with PO/LOI without BG, Balance 90% of Ex-W
with 100% taxes & duties and 100% F&I shall be paid through irrevocable LC to be opened in our favour with
15 days credit period. (or)

20% of the ex-works price as interest free advance along with PO/LOI against eqvlt. Submission of BG
Balance 80% of Ex-W with 100% taxes & duties and 100% F&I shall be paid through irrevocable LC to be
opened in our favour with 15 days credit period.

Opening charges and any other charges to be borne by buyer. Negotiation charges will be borne by us.

Contingent higher costs for ABB, resulting from delays or other difficulties in fulfilling the Contract, not
attributable to the ABB, have to be borne by the Purchaser.

1.8.3 Taxes & Duties

The prices quoted do not include any taxes or duties and the same shall be charged as applicable at the
time of dispatch and shall be payable by you at actuals like GST, freight and insurance charges. .

Further, should there be any new levies / duties imposed by the central government / state government /
other statutory authorities the same shall be reimbursed by you at actuals.
