Hens 2019.ORDINANCE NO. 2019-0 3 ORDINANCE AMENDING SPECIFIC PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER NINE OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF ALTONA, KNOX COUNTY, ILLINOIS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ALTONA, ILLINOIS THAT: SECTION 4: TITLE FOR REFERENCE. This ordinance shall be known and entitled: "ORDINANCE AMENDING SPECIFIC PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER NINE OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF ALTONA, KNOX COUNTY, ILLINOIS”. AMENDMENT TO SUBPARAGRAPH a) OF PARAGRAPH 4 OF SECTION Subparagraph (a) of Paragraph 4 of Section 9.02 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Altona, Knox County, Illinois is repealed in its entirety. The following is hereby enacted as subparagraph (a) of paragraph 4 of said Section 9.02: SECTION 3.02 “{a) KEEPING OF DOGS. (4) It is unlawful to maintain or keep more than two adult dogs, in or aboutany dwelling unit, whether indoors or outdoors. For the purposes of this subparagraph (a) a dwelling unit is the dwelling in which the person or persons maintaining or keeping the dogs dwells. (2)Forthe purposes of this ordinance, dogs three (3)months old or older shall be considered adult dogs. (3) Any person over the age of 18 years of age eccupying or residing in any dwelling unit where a violation of subsection (1) of this subparagraph (a) ‘of Paragraph 4 exists shall be subject to a fine as provided in Par. 14 B of Section 9.02 below. SECTION 3, SAVING CLAUSE. Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance be declared or held unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4: FFECTIVE DATE.
