It applies to slabs (blocks, boards and profiled sheets) and profiled sections {pipe sections and radiused or bevelled lags) cut from blocks. It is not applicable to continuously extruded phenolic foam pipe insulating sections. The nominal temperature range for which the insulation material is, suitable is- 180 °C to + 130 °C (see appendix C). NOTE. The titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover. 2 Classification The materials are classified in three types, A, B and C. They differ principally in thermal conductivity, apparent water absorption and water vapour permeability, as given in table 1. Table 1.
