Perimeter Trough System

I

P e ri m
is a modular recessed fluorescent lighting
system designed to outline the perimeter
of a room with even light, give the
impression of a floating ceiling, and accent
walls with a soft uniform line of light from
a concealed source.

patterns on the wall.
I

Longitudinal Section
Parabolic blade louvers (optional) are
supported at one end, cantilevered so
as not to touch the wall, thus eliminat-
ing the need lor a supporting flange at
the wall. A semi-specular reflector
(optional) directs light downward for
a more uniform distribution vertically.
The 3" overlap oJ the fluorescent
lamps eliminates end shadows and
assures even illumination, An ex-
truded aluminum flange sLrpports and
trimsthe ceiling at the outside edge of
the trough.

Louver Detail
Parabolic blade louvers of anodized
aluminum assure visual cutoff of the
source and provide low brightness
shielding. An extruded alLrminum
frame supports the louver biades
rigidly at one end, allowing them to
float in the perimeter trough. Louvers
are easily removed for cleaning or
lamp replacement.

Corner Detail
lnside and outside corners allow the
trough to follow the full contour of
rooms, corridors or foyers.
Cross Sectiona I Detail
Fluorescent lamp sections are con-
cealed above and behind the inside
edge of the trough. They are insened
after the trough is installed, snapped
into place behind spring retainers,
and simply plugged together for ease
of installation. Fixture is inde-
pendently supported by wires (by
othersi attached to the building struc-
ture. Concealed air return vents above
the lamp allow for ajr return to the ceil-
ing plenum and permit cooler, more
efficient operation of the lamps.

Lighted Telescoping Unit

There are five lengths oftrough: four
standard modules and a telescoping
sectjon which can be used in conjunc'
tion with a combination of standard
modules to comprise a run of any
lenqth.* Two end caps are included
with each telescoping unit to be Lrsed
at ends of each linear run. Additional
pairs of end caps may be ordered.

*lf the telescoping trough is utilized in a

"telescoped" condition, the extruded
aluminum trim and the frame of the
louver, if any, is cut to fit at the site.

Overtap Detail
The fluorescent lamps are overlapped
to eliminate end shadow and are
plugged together for ease of installa-
tion.
