4. GENERAL ADVICE
: Remove contaminated clothing
Inhaled : Move affected person to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Obtain
medical attention immediately.
On skin contact : Wash thoroughly with soap and water.
On contact with eyes : wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids
held open, consult an eye specialist if irritation persist.
On ingestion : Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Seek medical attention.

Procedures :
Keep spectators away. Floor may be slippery, use care to avoid falling. Contain spills immediately
with inert materials (eg sand, earth). Transfer liquids and solid material to separate suitable
containers for recovery or disposal. Contain spill by pumping (use an explosion proof or hand-
pump) or with a suitable absorbent and place in covered container.
Caution:
Keep spills and cleaning run off out of municipal sewers and open bodies of water.
Incinerate liquid and contaminated solids in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
Handling
Appropriate protective equipment must be worn when handling a spill of this material. Do not
breathe vapour. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
Storage
Classified as a class C1 combustible liquid for storage and handling purposes. Store in a well
ventilated place away from sources of ignition. Keep containers closed when not in use - check
regularly for spills.
Engineering controls:
Ensure workplace is well ventilated to maintain air concentrations below exposure standards.
Personal protection:
Respiratory protection: None required under normal operating conditions.
Eye Protection: Use chemical splash goggles (AS 1337 or approved equivalent)
Hand protection : Protective gloves if splashes are likely to occur.
Body Protection : wear overalls to minimise contamination of personal clothing.

Elimination information
Mobility : Floats on water. Partly evaporates from water or soil surfaces, but a
significant proportion will remain after one day. Large volumes may
penetrates soil and could contaminate groundwater.
