Bath and Body Works is a common household

name, known for their body care products,
wallflowers and increasingly, their three-wick
candles. The Champagne Toast candle is a seasonal
fragrance that is back again just in time for the
holidays. The scent is perfect if you don’t
necessarily want something that smells exactly like
Christmas, the snow or the outdoors, but you still
want to feel cozy and festive.

Bath and Body Works has a reputation for creating long-lasting and fragrant candles that smell as good
when you’re burning them as they do when you first open them. I own and have owned several candles in
different scents that I have burned at least 15 times for long periods before it becomes difficult to light the
wick. Unlike some other candle brands, Bath and Body Works candles do not have a strange or toxic
chemical scent when you first light the candle, a feature that the company attributes to their soy-based wax
formula.

The Champagne Toast candle is one of my favorites for a few reasons. For starters, the fact that it has
three wicks, as opposed to just one, is a big deal. Initially this may not seem like something worthy of
pointing out; however, considering the size of these candles (14.5 ounces) the three individual wicks are
better at producing and dispersing the fragrance. People commonly complain about candles that smell
good in the store when purchased but that once home and burning, they are not nearly as fragrant. Often,
this is due to the formula of the actual candle wax, but occasionally it relates to the size of the candle and
the number of wicks. Multiple wicks allow for the fragrance to be more evenly distributed, and you’re able
to smell the candle at the same intensity you recall from the store.
Another selling point of this candle is that the company’s creative team hit the nail on the head naming this
product. As soon as you light the candle, the light and warm scent of champagne begins to spread
throughout the room. There are also fairly prominent undertones of fruit and a subtle sweetness so that you
are not overwhelmed by the scent of champagne. The website says that the scents used to create this
fragrance are “bubbly champagne, sparkling berries, and juicy tangerine”; everything you smell is easy to
identify. This candle spreads its scent throughout the space nicely; it is not overpowering or so potent that
you are unable to leave the candle burning for long periods of time.

Although functionality is key, it’s a fact that consumers are attracted to looks and nice packaging. Bath and
Body Works has a fun habit of creating multiple different packaging options for the same candle so the
customer has a choice between which packaging design they like the best. I have seen at least three
different options for the Champagne Toast candle, and they are all different in order to appeal to everyone
that likes the scent, but may not want a very colorful and sparkly candle jar.

After taking the time to consider various features of this product from functionality to presentation, I would
absolutely recommend this particular candle to others. The scent is long-lasting but not overpowering, does
not smell like chemicals or artificial fragrances, and the packaging is aesthetically pleasing. This is a candle
that you should stock up on while it is still in season; that way you can burn it all year long.
