Quick Installation Manual

About the Manual


The manual is used for Lunar50RF Lunar-65RF Lunar-80RF HV generator.
(Notice: Fluoroscopy function is optional)
Requirement of generator main power input.
Generator uses 3 phases-5 wires power input (L1, L2, L3, N, earth), please do not mix the neural line and
earth line.

1 .Service software Sundisk installation.
Make sure the computer has installed window7 or windows XP SP3 operation system.
Please follow the steps as blow before using Sundisk SM RF software.
1.1 Read Sundisk CD disk.
1.2 Install Microsoft .Net Framework 4 first.
(Double click and run \DotNET Framework\dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe).
1.3 Install Visual C++ 2010 running library.
(Double click \vcredist\vcredist_x86.exe).
1.4 Run Sundisk SM RF installation package (.exe) and install Sundisk SM RF in computer.

2.Sundisk connect with generator


2.1 Connect console and computer by AB cable

2.2 Press the RESET+POWER buttons on the console till console enters service mode. Then select
the “Generator Service” menu.

2.3 Install USB driver


It needs to install USB driver if connecting computer and generator by console;
Ignore this step if connecting computer and generator by serial port directly (mini console configuration)
2.3.1 Find this USB device in device manager and update it.


 
2.3.2 Select ‘No, not this time’ and click next.

2.3.3 Select ‘install from a list or specific location’ and click next.

2.3.4 Select the USB driver path (default path is D:\Neusoft\Sundisk SM RF1.2.0\USBDriver) and click next.


 
2.3.5 Click the ‘Finish’ button to finish the USB driver installation.

2.4 Run Sundisk SM RF software and press the ‘Serial Port’ radio button in the function area of
‘Configuration->Generator->Properties->Communication’. Select the proper COM port in the combo box of
‘Port’ and click the ‘Apply’ button. Then restart Sundisk to finish the following steps.

3.Import tube data file.


3.1 Get ready for tube data file.
3.2 Select Configration=>Tube Data.

3.3 Select “Import New Tube File to Library”.(Notice:Ignore this step if the library contains desired tube file)


 
3.4 Select “Apply Tube File to Generator”.

3.5 Select the desired tube data file in the combo box and click the ‘Apply’ button.


 
3.6 Click the ‘Close’ button to exit.
3.7 Tube filament current protection value adjustment.
Tube filament current protection includes “software protection” and “hardware protection”.
3.7.1 Check Large Focus/Small Focus Max Current (A) in the ‘Tube Data’ menu (software protection).

Potentiometer:R29

Steps of adjustment:
1) Measure the voltage between TP7(+) and TP2(-);
2) Regulate the potentiometer R29 till the value is 0.2V higher than the max filament current
displayed in Sundisk SM RF->Configuration->Tube Data.
3) Follow the above steps to adjust large/small filament protection value respectively.

4 Tube calibration
4.1 Select Calibration =>Tube Calibration.

4.2 Large filament calibration.


4.2.1 Large filament condition Data calibration.
4.2.1.1 Select ‘RAD Large Focus’ and ‘Condition Data Calibration’. Click the ‘Start’ button.

4.2.1.2 Click the ‘OK’ button in the ‘Information’ message box and press hand switch to do the calibration.
(Notice: Do not release the hand switch during calibration).


 
4.2.1.3 When generator stops exposure and the text of ‘Finished’ is displayed in Sundisk, the condition data
calibration for large focus is completed. Then please release the hand switch and press the ‘Finish’ button.

4.2.2 Large filament Adaption calibration


4.2.2.1 Select ‘RAD Large Focus’ and ‘Adaptation Calibration’ and click the ‘Start’ button.

4.2.2.2 Click the ‘OK’ button in the ‘Information’ message box and press hand switch.
Notice: 1. Do not release hand switch during calibration.


 
2. If tube heat capacity exceeds 25%, adaptation calibration will be prohibited. Please wait for the
tube cooling down to 25%.

4.2.2.3 When generator stops exposure and the text of ‘Finished’ is displayed in Sundisk, the adaption
calibration for large focus is completed. Then please release the hand switch and press the ‘Finish’ button.

4.3 Small filament calibration


4.3.1 Do small filament calibration by following the above steps.
5. HVG parameter setting
5.1 Select Configuration=>Generator Properties.

5.2 Exposure Limits

Max KW/mA: Configure the max radiography watt / max mA of generator.


Min mA: Configure the min radiography mA, default is 10mA.
Max mAs: Configure the max radiography mAs.
Max ms: Max radiography ms, fixed.
5.3 Communication .

Serial=>port: Serial Port setting,accord with computer COM port setting.
5.4 Short Time Compensation.

Cable Capacitance:
Refer to cable datasheet and input capacitance value by click ‘∧∨’ button.
Cable Length:
Input high voltage cable length by click ‘∧∨’ button.
Tank Capacitance:
Please do not change the displayed value for it is a default value in the generator.
Coefficient:
Please do not change the displayed value for it is a default value in the generator.
5.5 Date and Time.

Generator Time:setting generator time.


Synchronize with Computer Time:
Press the ‘Synchronized with Computer Time’ button to make generator time synchronize with the
computer time.
Click the ‘Apply’ button.
6. Auxiliary parameter setting
6.1 Select Configuration=>Auxiliay Data.

6.2 Select Auxiliary.
Select the desired auxiliary and configure it.

6.3 Enable Auxiliary.


Checked: this auxiliary is supported and the parameters of this auxiliary are ready to be configured.

6.4 General.
Select an auxiliary and adjust the parameter.
6.4.1 Enable AEC.
Checked: enable AEC function for selected auxiliary. AEC function can be used in the generator
console and ‘AEC Options’ dialog box will display (Notice : The auxiliary of Free Cassette does not
support AEC function even ‘Enable AEC’ is checked).

6.4.2 Auto Focus.


This function is not supported currently.
6.4.3 Select Tube.
This function is not supported currently.
6.4.4 Interface Number.
Number 0: The generator does not wait for the system input of X-ray sync signal and takes radiography
directly.
Number 1/3: Reservation function
Number 2: The generator waits for system input of X‐ray sync signal to take exposures.

Interface Mode.
Mode 0: Multi‐pulse radiography mode. The generator accepts pulse sync signal and takes multi‐pulse
radiography exposures.

Mode 1: Single radiography mode. The generator waits for system input of X‐ray sync signal. The
generator only accepts the first sync signal and takes single radiography exposure,ignoring the
following sync signal.
Mode 2/3/4: Reservation function
6.4.5 RAD Hangover(s)
RAD hangover is time of rotator running after releasing hand switch. If the value of this parameter is not
zero, the tube rotator will continue rotating after releasing hand switch.
6.4.6 Switch Data

NO change : The RAD exposure parameters in the generator when the generator is just powered on are
the same as those in the generator when the generator is powered off last time. When the auxiliary with ‘No
Change’ of switch data is selected in the generator console or system image software, the RAD exposure
parameters in the generator will be the same as those before selecting the auxiliary.
Custom: Generator will display the custom setting parameters when powering on or when change
auxiliary.
Check Custom: Only when ‘Custom’ is selected for Switch Data. this function can be used.
6.4.7Click”Check Custom”

The following parameters are adjustable in the dialog of ‘Auxiliary Custom’:

Press “Save” and exit the menu after the adjustment is done.
6.5 Inputs

Tray interlock:
Tray detection enable signal.
Checked: Generator will check the cassette status before taking an exposure. Generator will prohibit
exposure if no cassette is detected or two cassettes (table bucky tray and wall bucky tray) are detected at
the same time.
Buck1 Contact:
Table Bucky grid detection enable signal.
Checked: Generator will check table bucky grid status before taking an exposure. Generator will prohibit
exposure if bucky gird is not connected or bucky is not released before an exposure.
Buck2 Contact:
Wall Bucky grid detection enable signal.
Checked: Generator will check wall bucky grid status before taking an exposure. Generator will prohibit
exposure if bucky gird is not connected or bucky is not released before an exposure.
Door Interlock:
Room door switch detection enable signal.
Checked: Generator will check room door switch status before taking an exposure. Generator will
prohibit exposure if room door is open and generator will terminate exposures if room door is open
during exposures.
6.6 Outputs

Bucky1 select:
Table bucky release signal output.
Checked: Generator will output table bucky release signal before exposure.
Bucky2 seletc control:
Wall bucky release signal output.
Checked: Generator will output wall bucky release signal before exposure.
220VAC 220VAC:
Auxiliary power output control.
Checked: Generator will output 220V/110V/24VAC auxiliary power.
Room Light:
Room Light control output.
Checked: Generator will supply switch for room light.
6.7 AEC Options
Ensure ‘Enable AEC’ has been checked for the selected auxiliary.

Select Channel :
The channel number should be to compliance with hardware interface configuration. Please refer to
appendix1 for the generator external interfaces.

Backup mAs:
Radiography with AEC mode, if mAs feedback exceeds this value, the radiography will be stopped
and a feedback mAs error will be reported.
Backup ms:
Radiography with AEC mode, if ms feedback exceeds this value, the radiography will be stopped
and a feedback ms will be reported..
6.8 After all the parameter adjustment for a selected auxiliary is done, press the ‘Apply’ button will apply the
changes to the generator.

7 DR system connect with generator


There are total two sets of sync signal between generator and system
7.1 Table bucky auxiliary
7.1.1 Interface number configuration
Select interface number “2” if select Table auxiliary and external sync signal is needed
    Please refer to 6.4.4 for the definition of interface number and interface mode

7.1.2 Hardware interface for sync signal.(refer Appendix1for interface definition )


There are total 4 sync signal between DR system and the generator.

PREP(XC9 25、26pin): Generator radiography prepare signal from generator to system. This signal
notifies X-Ray system that generator starts to prepare taking radiography (Contact signal and close
effective )

READY(XC9 27、28pin): Generator radiography ready signal from generator to system. This signal
notifies X-Ray system that generator has got ready for radiography. (Contact signal and close effective)

CTRL X(XC9 29、30pin):X-Ray system ready signal. When the system receives the READY signal from
the generator and the system has got ready for receiving image, system will send CTRL_X signal to
generator and trigger generator radiography(conduction effective)

XACT(XC9 31、32pin): Generator radiography signal. After receiving the CTRL_X signal, generator
starts radiography and send the X_ACT signal to the system(Contact signal and close effective)

7.2 Wall bucky auxiliary
7.2.1 Interface number configuration
Select interface number “2” if select wall bucky auxiliary and external sync signal is needed
    Please refer to 6.4.4 for the definition of interface number and interface mode

7.2.2 Hardware interface for sync signal.


There are total 4 sync signal between DR system and the generator.

PREP(XC9 25、26pin): Generator radiography prepare signal from generator to system. This signal

READY(XC9 23、24pin): Generator radiography ready signal from generator to system. This signal

CTRL X(XC9 57、58pin):X-Ray system ready signal. When the system receives the READY signal from
the generator and the system has got ready for receiving image, system will send CTRL_X signal to
generator and trigger generator radiography(conduction effective)

XACT(XC9 31、32pin): Generator radiography signal. After receiving the CTRL_X signal, generator
starts radiography and send the X_ACT signal to the system(Contact signal and close effective)

7.3 Sync signal diagram

Notice :Generator can supply +24VDC power(XC9 4、7、11、12pin are +24VDC,5、6、13、14are GND),
while it needs limiting resistor according to actual state.

9. DAP measuring device calibration


9.1 Hardware interface XC7
XC7 is a multi-function interface. The functions include “serial port” and ”DAP data receiving”.

9.2 Run the Sundisk software after hardware connection complete


9.2.1 Select Calibration=>DAP Measuring device calibration

9.2.2 Measure the DAP real value manually by Dosimeter. Then change the ‘Calibration Coeficient’ value and
press the ‘Apply’ button. Do exposure again with the same KV-mA-ms until the DAP device value
equals to the DAP real value.

Range of calibration coefficient: [0.50~1.60] Step:0.01


Range of DAP device value: (0~99999999)

10. Restart generator


Exit Sundisk software and restart generator after all the parameter configuration is completed.

11. Mini console connect with generator

Mini console
11.1 Basic function of mini console
The mini console is optional for DR system.
The basic functions of mini console include generator power on/off, prep-radiography indicator,
radiography indicator and radiography beep.
Sundisk and system image software can connect generator by serial port.

11.2 Connect mini console with the generator XC6 interface by DB15 cable.

11.3 Connect computer with the generator XC7 interface by serial port cable

11.4 Power on the generator and run the Sundisk software. Please refer to section 2.3 for serial port
