Offering yourself to God is what worship is all about.”
And
to
do
this
we
need
to
change
our
mindset.
Romans
12:
2
goes
on
to
say,
“2
Do
not
be
conformed
to
this
world,
but
be
transformed
by
the
renewal
of
your
mind,
4”
It
means
coming
for
a
church
meeting
not
with
a
goal
to
receive
but
to
give.
To
give
of
ourselves
to
God
and
the
building
of
his
church.
If
we
do
get
blessed
then
praise
God,
but
that
is
not
our
right,
but
God’s
grace.
We
have
to
die
to
ourself,
not
concerned
what
others
think
about
us,

wanting
to
live
for
God
alone
and
fully
give
ourselves
to
his
agenda.
One
of
the
ways
we
can
give
of
our
selves
is
by
giving
our
physical
selves.
Singing,
dancing,
clapping
our
hands,
raising
our
hands,
praying
etc.
Now
and
important
thing
for
us
to
remember
is
that
the
motivation
to
do
these
things
is
not
our
feeling,
but
obedience
to
God.
We
raise
our
hands
in
response
to
God
and
not
because
it’s
a
nice
song
to
raise
our
hands
to.
Its
not
about
me,
its
about
God.
Example:
How
I
wanted
to
sing
out
loud
but
was
too
caught
up
with
my
self.
I
could
only
wholeheartedly
worship
when
I
fully
surrendered
my
self
to
God.
When
speaking
about
Corporate
Worship
in
the
book
of
Corinthians,
Paul
says
in
chapter
14:26,
“When
you
come
together,
each
one
has
a
hymn,
a
lesson,
a
revelation,
a
tongue,
or
an
interpretation.
5”
We
all
have
something
to
give.
Here
Paul
is
speaking
about
when
we
come
together
in
a
Corporate
setting.
I
would
encourage
you
to
read
chapters
12
to
14
where
Paul
shows
us
how
worship
should
be
when
we
come
together
and
specifically
how
to
use
the
gifts
that
we
have
been
given.
Here
are
a
few
practical
things
that
I
have
got
from
there:
The
bottom
line
is
that
worship
is
about
Giving
out
of
a
response
of
our
love
for
God.
The
goal
in
corporate
worship
is
that
God
should
be
glorified
and
the
entire
church
should
be
built.
Loving

God
and
Loving
others.
So
the
next
time
before
you
come
to
attend
a
church
meeting
pray
and
ask
God
to
give
you
something
that
would
fulfill
this
goal.
Just
as
Paul
said
that
if
our
motivation
is
not
love,
the
gifts
are
of
no
use.
Worship
is
an
outward
display
based
on
an
inward
response.
The
Christian
life
is
an
inside
out
life.
Which
means
that
change
begins
in
the
heart
and
then
is
displayed
outside,
not
the
other
way
around.
Religion
says
that
if
we
do
good
on
the
outside,
we
will
become
good
on
the
inside.
But
Christianity
is
not
a
religion.
The
bible
says
in
1
Samuel
16:7,
“For
the
LORD
sees
not
as
man
sees:
man
looks
on
the
outward
appearance,
but
the
LORD
looks
on
the
heart.”
6”
Its
not
about
the
place,
the
time,
the
clothes
we
wear,
the
songs
we
sing,
the
prayers
we
make.
Its
about
our
heart.
Why
do
we
do
what
we
do.
Matt
Redman
says
in
his
book,
“Every
posture
says
something
of
both
the
worshipper
and
the
one
being
glorified
in.
The
raising
of
hands
tells
of
a
soul
stretched
out
high
in
praise
and
the
worth
of
the
one
being
exalted.
Joyful
dancing
interprets
a
grateful
heart
and
points
in
adoration
to
the
source
of
that
joy.
When
it
comes
to
expressing
our
worship,
what
we
do
on
the
outside
is
a
key
reflection
of
what
is
taking
place
on
the
inside.
Out
of
the
overflow
of
the
heart
we
speak
and
sing,
we
dance
and
we
bow.
God
reveals
and
we
respond.
God
shines
and
we
reflect.”
The
amazing
thing
is
that
God
wants
to
hear
our
songs,
our
own
songs
however
not
in
key
they
may
sound.
The
songs
we
sing
are
great,
praise
God
for
all
the
song
writers.
But
at
the
end
of
the
day
it
is
their
heart
response.
But
if
you
ask
them
they
will
also
say
that
it
was
so
that
it
would
create
our
own
worship
to
God.
The
problem
is
that
our
heart
is
so
caught
up
with
ourselves
and
what
others
think
that
we
are
not
able
to
contribute
and
worship
God
for
who
he
is.
God
is
looking
for
men
and
women
who
will
worship
him
in
spirit
and
truth,
the
way
he
has
designed
it.
God
is
looking
out
for
more
than
just
singing
of
songs,
he
is
looking
out
for
a
heart
that
is
wholeheartedly
devoted
to
him.
A
heart
that
gives
to
God
and
gives
to
others
out
of
a
love
for
God.
Worship
requires
an
inward
change
that
only
God
can
bring.
And
he
has
made
this
possible
because
of
his
Son
Jesus.
But
true
worship
also
needs
us
to
surrender.
Not
outwardly
but
in
our
hearts.
Psalm
24
3
Who
shall
ascend
the
hill
of
the
LORD?
And
who
shall
stand
in
his
holy
place?
4
He
who
has
clean
hands
and
a
pure
heart,
who
does
not
lift
up
his
soul
to
what
is
false

and
does

swear
deceitfully.

He
will
receive
blessing
from
the

and
righteousness
from
the
God

his

Such
is
the
generation
of
those
who
seek
him,
who
seek
the
face
of
the
God
of
Jacob.
