3.3 FOUNDER OF THE COMPANY: KARL BENZ

Carl Benz was born in Karlsruhe on November 25, 1844, the son of an engine driver. His
father died just two years after Carl’s birth. Despite her limited financial means, his mother
ensured that he received a good education. Carl Benz attended high school, then studied at
the Polytechnic College in Karlsruhe. This was followed by two years of practical study at
Maschinenbau-Gesellschaft in Karlsruhe. Carl Benz was given his first paid employment as a
technical draughtsman and designer by a manufacturer of weighing machines in Mannheim.
On losing this position in 1868 he joined an engineering company which was primarily
involved in bridge-building. This employment was followed by a short period in Vienna,
likewise with a structural ironworking company.

3.4 CEO OF PUNE: ROLAND FOLGER

Mr. Roland Folger serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Officer at
Mercedes-Benz India Private Limited since October 1, 2015.Mr.Folger serves as president
and Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz's Malaysian operations. He served as the
Chief Executive Officer and President of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. from June 2015
to October 1, 2015. He has worked at Mercedes-Benz for three decades. He took the top role
in Mercedes-Benz Malaysia in March 2011 after serving the luxury automaker in various
functions and geographies
3.5 VICE PRESIDENT (AFTER SALES AND RETAIL
TRAINING)

Santosh Iyer, vice-president, marketing, and customer relationship management.He is

handling after-sales and retail training function of the company in India.He has taken over the
additional role from Devdutta Chandavarkar, who will take on a larger role at Mercedes-Benz
Middle-East, and will be based in Dubai.

3.6 CHAIRMAN & MANAGING DIRECTOR OF T&T

MOTORS

The Talwars started in the automobiles business in Peshawar in 1930 and, in 1997, bought a
3,500 sq ft showroom in CP. Today, T&T boasts of 100,000 sq ft of retail space.
Chairman, Ravi Talwar and Managing Director, Vidur Talwar, whose flagship store at
Mathura Road has an area of 60,000 sq ft and can display up to 30 cars, talk about the allure
of the luxury car and what drives them to do better.
