Personal Pronouns and Possessive Adjectives Memory Games

Stage 1: Personal pronouns and possessive adjectives disappearing text games

Choose one of the pairs of sentences below and say the whole thing. Cover one word with
a small piece of blank paper. Can your partner say the whole thing, including the covered
word? If they can, they can then cover another word and test you in the same way.
Continue saying the whole thing and covering the text until the whole thing is covered or
one person can’t remember a covered word. Then play the same game with other things
from below.
This is his bath. He has

a bath at ten ten.

This is my bed. I go

to bed at nine thirty.

Stage 2: Personal pronouns and possessive adjectives drawing games

Draw two sentences from above and see if your partner can say the sentences. If the
drawing isn’t enough, draw more or give them other hints such as one or two key words.

Draw things belonging to you and your family and tell your partner about whose they are
and how and when people use them.

Stage 3: Personal pronouns and possessive adjectives mixing up games

Take a cut-up version of one of the pairs of sentences above and mix it up. How quickly
can your partner put the two sentences back into order?

Play the same game, but this time with one of the cards face down. Your partner must put
them in order and say the whole thing without turning that card over. Then turn the card
over to check.

Play the same game with more and more cards face down.
