Caregivers often sit by the side of the
person for whom they are caring with little
to do except eat, worry and watch TV.
Weight gain, stress, and lack of exercise
are identified causes of such conditions as
diabetes type 2 and heart disease.
IT’S IMPORTANT FOR CAREGIVERS TO
EXERCISE AND KEEP DOWN WEIGHT!

hospital. Day starts with
full body massage for

The day is given to
nurses as a fringe benefit
by Shands Hospital.

Remembrance and Grieving
Nihonkai Hospital,Sakata
During SAH’s Japan Project on Caregiving, Professor
Musubi Handa hosted Joe Henderson and Dr. Sandra
Bertman for a forum and site visits around Yamagata.
They attended a first-time-in-9-years memorial ceremony
for doctors, medical school professors and family
members of body donors (autopsied patients).
