The primary goal of teachers for the students is to promote learning, inspire them

to bring out their best and help them become productive members of the community.

Some teachers are more popular than others among students. These teachers

become popular by building good relationships with their students, and by treating them

with respect. However, this ideal situation would not be possible without the help and

support of all school stakeholders.

Stakeholders are individuals or groups who have an interest or concern for the

school. They include parents, school administrators, board members, local government

officials, alumni and socio-civic groups who contribute to the development of the school

community.

Thus, a healthy relationship between the teachers and stakeholders is important ,

as this will enable everybody to harmoniously work together, which will have a positive

impact on the students.

Parents desire a successful educational system for their children ; while the

students themselves want to receive good education. It is easy to imagine the influence

the education system has on government officials, like city councillors and district

representatives, as voters also base their decision on the way public officials show their

support to the school system.

In fact, the community as a whole is the biggest stakeholders in its education

system. This is because local schools educate future employees, business owners and

community leaders. A solid education program builds a stronger community by

preparing students to be successful community members.

Since everyone in a community is a stakeholder in the local education system,

every stakeholder plays a different, significant role in supporting the education system.

For example, a stakeholders’ input and relationship with other stakeholders are

important in the planning, implementation and evaluation of, say, health promotion and

education programs in schools. Their personal perceptions and understanding can help

motivate children in the school environment.

Parents, on the other hand, can support and influence the adoption and

implementation of a solid school curriculum. In addition, the parents can help monitor

and evaluate the implementation of the curriculum by keeping abreast with the

performance of their children, particularly by monitoring their homework activities.

Furthermore, the parents can help teachers by monitoring the behaviour and

social development of their children at home, especially for children with special

education needs.

As teachers, we know we are dealing with fragile beings. Adolescence, for

example, brings insecurities. Individuals at this age are pulling away from adults. Being

accepted by their peers is the key to develop their self-esteem. When children feel good

about themselves, It is much easier to motivate them to become academically proficient.

To fulfil our goals of developing successful students, teachers must work together

with school stakeholders in planning and building a school community where children

thrive as they enhance their learning capabilities.

. The stakeholders play an important role in managing schools. They are the

partners of the school leaders in making the schools conducive to teaching and

learning.

It cannot be denied that the main focus of the teaching – learning activities in

schools is the child. The ultimate goal of the vision and mission of schools is to develop

the child to acquire lifelong learning and skills.

In crafting the School Improvement Plan, stakeholders are members of the

working committee who looks into their involvement in making the school conducive to

learning. They are also responsible for the achievement of the learning outcomes

through their active participation in school activities, programs and projects.

The external stakeholders are included as members of the evaluating team, to

evaluate the SBM level of practice.

School heads are empowered by virtue of RA 9155 also known as the Basic

Education Act of 2001, where school heads/leaders can make innovations on the

strategies and techniques to raise the school performance. Stakeholders are something

in school for the benefit of the learners provided that it does not involved gambling and

other forms of it.

We have to build harmonious relationship (school – community) because the

stakeholders are now in the integral part of the school system . We have to strengthen

the development of linkages between the school and the community to win their

support. We would be able to get their full support if they could see changes or

improvements in the school.

Education is a fundamental sector that every country needs to develop but

government has limited resources. They face difficulties in providing quality education

services that take into account, individual and community diversity. This has resulted in

greater involvement of the private sector including non – government organizations,

business corporations and communities in the finance and management of services.

Productive collaborations demand that parents and teachers acknowledge the

critical importance of each other’s participation in the life of a child. This maturity of

knowledge, understanding and empathy comes not only with a recognition of the child

as the central purpose for the collaboration but also with a recognition of the need to

maintain roles and relationships with children that are comprehensive, dynamic, and

differentiated. Alone we can do so little; together we can do so mush.

There are many stakeholders in education each of whom needs to play his role

effectively in order to help all our children learn better and reach their fullest potential.

The pupils, parents, teachers, administrators, and community have the ultimate aim of

helping all our children achieve the desired outcomes of education.

A stakeholder is anyone who is involved in the welfare and success of a school. It

may also be collective entities which have person, civic, financial interest or concern in

the school. Stakeholders’ engagement is considered vital to the success and

improvement of a school.

The involvement and great partnership of pupils, parents, teachers, and

community is very evident in the present situation of Gosoon Elementary School,

wherein the following projects were raised through the collaborative efforts of all,
namely: The school pathway was cemented through the joint efforts of parents, and our

linkage with the Barangay Personnel; the school stage was finished and is now ready to

use through the collaboration of parents and the Barangay; the ICT / e-room window

grill (which secures the school’s facilities) through the support of some alumni of

Gosoon Elementary School; and lately school bags and supplies were given to the

pupils by one of the kind-hearted person who never forgot to look back where he came

from. These endeavours meaningfully inspire and encourage the pupils to be in school.

Stakeholders were given tribute as recognition of their contribution and gratitude

for their willingness to share their resources. Indeed, great partnership has incredible

impact on the successful implementation of programs and projects in education.

According to Henry Ford, “ coming together is a beginning ; keeping together is

progress; working together is success.”
