1. The contest is open to all Don Bosco Settings (Grade 9 and above).

2. Each local settings can send in only one (1) contestant (either male or female) for each
category

A. Solo

B. Group

SUBMISSION OF ENTRY IS ON OR BEFORE __________

3. Each contestant has the chance to choose OLD/New OPM Songs of his/her choice.

4. Guidelines for participants and audience:

a. Contestant must be in Casual Attire.

b. Props (body or hand) are not allowed for use.

c. Official microphones/lapels provided by the committee shall be used.

5. Winners shall be ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and shall receive something special

6. All contestants must be registered and must present a contest pass to the Contest In-charge

SOLO

1. VOCAL (50%)

Vocal Technique – Tone Quality, Breath Support, Intonation, Diction and Articulation

Rhythm & Tempo – Voice in relation to music

2. EXPRESSION (30%)

Performance – How well the performer is able to express the meaning and mood of the song

3. SHOWMANSHIP (20%)

Show Design – Music Selection, Effective use of Stage and Performance Area, Outfit and style
Entertainment Value – The audience’s and judges’ reaction to the overall performance

Group

1. VOCAL (50%)

Vocal Technique – Tone Quality, Breath Support, Intonation, Diction and Articulation

Rhythm & Tempo – Voice in relation to music

Timing – How coordinated the singers are in their performance in regards to syncing of vocals
and interaction on stage.

Harmony – How the harmonies have been arranged and executed, Difficulty and Creative

2. EXPRESSION (30%)

Performance – How well the performer is able to express the meaning and mood of the song

Match – How well the voices and personalities match in relation to the song performed

Chemistry – How credible the duet partners are in their performance, Interaction.

3. SHOWMANSHIP (20%)

Show Design – Music Selection, Effective use of Stage and Performance Area, Outfit and style

Entertainment Value – The audience’s and judges’ reaction to the overall performance
