Introduction

Any organization that intends to achieve their goals and objectives requires proper planning
and should implement various strategies to improve or enhance their overall business activity.
It is indeed very difficult to thrive in this heavily competitive market. In order to target
potential customers it is crucial for any organizations to utilize skills and plan proper
strategies.

The analysis and exploration has been done on Al Madina Hypermarket group which is one
of the biggest hypermarket in UAE that sells almost all items from household items to
technologies. They have started as a grocery store initially and succeeded in selling almost all
items.

Task 1

Critically analyse the strategic direction of the organisation (AC 1.1)

Strategic direction is the path for any organization to achieve its organizations goals and
objectives. These objectives are linked to the companies visson, mission and other long term
goals intended to benefit its internal and external factors that sums up to their revenue or their
other missions. To analyze and to take a decision for Al Madina group this particular report
concentrates on the mission statement of the firm.

Al Madina's mission is clear enough as they intends to provide feasible solutions to their
customers, suppliers, staffs, shareholders and society by becoming the leading retailer.

With regards to this statement, it is achievable only providing best quality while price being
moderate as the customer intends which will only then benefits the organizations goals.
Differentiation strategy is used here in the organization which intents to provide good quality
products and services according to the demands of the customers which will subsequently
benefit the organizations mission.

Explicit Value:
Remarkable and ubiquitous administration method used, brisk and effortless task, cooperates
as a team, best quality sustenance, focused cost.

Implicit value:
implicit value of a firm is rated by its customer loyalty and retention, channel, co-activity,
group spirit, trust and efforts. (Lewis and McKone,2015)

The mission of the firm is very straight objective, to concentrate on the aspects that will
achieve the customers and attain the performance a firm requires to become enough
competent in the market among st other competitors that will add up the organizaitons main
objective. HR and Finance dept plays a major role here to accomplish the key factors and
also to evaluate if goals are achievable or not, for meeting the company's objectives here are
some of the techniques used :

1) best quality on the food provided with reasonable pricing strategy.

2) increase the market share by using various channels.
3) Creating the space for grocery store.
4)A Dynamic property administration (Swaim,2011)

Critically evaluate the strategic skills required of the leader operating in a complex
environment to achieve personal and organisational strategic ambitions (AC 1.2)

Keeping in mind how a company or firm work towards their main objectives, leaders or
managers must portray convenient, viable and proper decisions. To achieve this, they must be
having abilities and aptitudes, or simply a proper arrangement between their abilities and
mission to progress since they are entitled to have a crucial job for enhancing the productivity
of a business/firm.

Within Al Madina group, their managers perform specific task that revolves over control,
structure, and reward. To route Madina group to their key objectives, managers should poses
distinctive aptitudes and talents that could be learnt in various levels of procedures.
(Simmonds, 2011)

Corporate level:
Ability to command/direct and analyse the strategic policies of the firm, building
arrangements or unions in the organization, handle workers and situations, self-abilities and
aptitudes, initiative aptitudes and critical thinking abilities.

Business level:
Ability to create groups or partnership, understand individuals and conditions, relational
abilities and critical thinking abilities.

Operational level:
Relational skills. aptitudes, client benefit skills, IT abilities, multi-tasking,

These skills are focused and chosen by strategic objectives of an organization. According to
strategic goals, these managers should obtain newer abilities that should be beneficial
according to the situation demands. As and when time changes, they need to grow their
abilities. Inside Al Madina group, they should opt for contract staffs, where managers need to
learn new languages and techniques. (Rummler and Brache, 2012) which means without
proper abilities and skills no managers can lead their business towards success. Strategic
administration abilities and skills are key factors that leads the business to thrive to success as
to the interest of their partners and provide a focus and guidance to their managers being a
focal mission. Therefore, it is crucial to asses’ strategic aptitudes and values for a manager or
a leader.

Assess the relationship between existing, required and future skills to achieve strategic
ambitions (AC 1.3)

To accomplish strategic objectives, managers must portray apt abilities, learning and certain
capacities as it vital for achievement for the organizations goals and to produce the needed
aptitudes. For this understanding, managers need to outline the some explorations on the
requirements of the organizations like where do I stand right now? Where do I want to be ?
this completes the exploration or analysis for an individual to create a better plan.

In this case, the Integrated Competency Model is a system for directing the entire
investigation.
It tends to be used to investigate the connection between existing, needed and future capabilit
ies (Hellriegel and Slocum, 2008).

Singular skills, as indicated by this model, should assist the demand for employment and the
condition of association and these three viewpoints show the soundness of activities and co -
operation.

The new mission fundamentally concentrates on the requirements of the company and asses
what’s the most effective for the company so as to fulfil the requirement of the goals of the
company and enhance its productivity. The Vision, Mission and strategic objective of the
organization should be modified on the idea of present demand of the existing market. GAP
assessment is one of the most effective models which might facilitate to the organization to
delineate the problems occur in present strategic model that is being used, and to enhance /
improvise the performance of the business.

By the help of entire research, manager of Al Madina group finds out what's the scenario
inside the association as far as results, practices, aptitudes and records and comprehension.
Leader has fine aptitudes information and capacities to steer the business toward progress
(Kumar, 2012). Nonetheless, Al Madina is growing its commercial enterprise via
enhancement, so managers wishes to build up extra gaining knowledge of, competencies and
abilities. Inside the enterprise a manager simply should have better idea regarding retail
business but Al Madina is growing its business in retaining cash and financial element also so
a leader must create information about back and some talents with the goal intention which
the company focuses to reach in future.

Task 2:

Critically discuss the opportunities to support leadership development (AC 2.1)

Al Madina believes that singular activity which aides and assists the association to meet the
normal and key targets. With the ultimate objective to extend practicality of individual
organization affiliation gives chances of guidance, getting ready and headway to develop
specialist's dimension capacities, abilities, data and limits.

Inside Al Madina managers can use Johari Window Framework to research headway
openings which is valuable technique for care, personal growth, and getting relationship
(Drejer, 2002). It in like manner indicates how contribution from others enables making sense
of how to develop sensitive aptitudes, lead, co-movement, compassion, social improvement.
Figure 1: Johari Window Model
(Robson, 2015)

In this model, there are four forthcomings: Arena, Blind spot, Facade, Unknown. Arena
addresses an area of free development and shows information about person's direct,
perspective, slants, feeling, data, experience, capacities, sees, etc known by both the
individual and the staff group. Inside this area extraordinary trades and joint effort happen
which is free from confusion, battle, question, preoccupation, hardship and misguided
judgment. Vulnerable side talks about what is dark by the person about them yet which others
know. This can be essential information or can incorporate significant issues (for example
sentiments of deficiency, uncouthness, disgracefulness, rejection) which are troublesome for
individuals to go up against clearly. So likewise, exterior addresses information, notions, etc
anything that a man ponders him/herself anyway that is kept maintained a strategic distance
from others. Finally, the Unknown zone assesses information, slants, idle limits, aptitudes
and experiences, etc that are dark to the individual and to others in get-together as well
(Stacey, 2007).

With the ultimate objective to improve ampleness of individual expert, a leader or manager
should fabricate Arena domain by the help of undertaking progression practices offered by Al
Madina. Another way to deal with improve practicality is analysis which can be grabbed via
preparing, training, execution examination, 360 degree investigation, psychometric
evaluation and so forth.

For this Al Madina gives work-based sense of how to get ready to get (business related
ability) and apprenticeship projects and coordinates organization planning and improvement
program. It also has set mentoring program that assist in whole deal and make self-learning
condition to the chiefs by giving organization related books, magazine, paper (Ahlstrom And
Bruton, 2009).

Learning is key strategy to make capacities, abilities, data and care that enable activity
progression. Care is critical for activity improvement. To manufacture care and personal
development boss can use different strategy, for instance, Kolb's learning cycle, Personal
SWOT examination, etc.

Singular SWOT examination is technique which recognizes pioneer's characteristics,

weaknesses, openings and threats or in other hand, it perceives improvement needs that
engage trough to accomplish decisions on the ensuing stage to take and it in like manner
enable to plan to abuse any capacities and openings. To make this appraisal progressively
significant pioneer need to build some data and analysis outline others and these finding from
others can gives supportive commitment to headway organizing.

A leader or a supervisor needs to close improvement gaps to get need future position inside
Al Madina and to lead association towards its primary objective. A person has three choices
for mindfulness: guidance, getting ready and improvement that help to build mindfulness.

Design a personal development plan to direct leadership development in a complex

environment (AC 2.2)

The advancement of leadership isn't one-time process yet a constant methodology, to be

excellent in this technique managers need to make mindfulness plan. The accompanying with
personal growth plan has been created as a utilitarian executive of Al Madina to be in need
for future position and to lead occupation towards advancement.

Objectives What could be done to enhance the

performance?

Success criteria How success could be identified in the

organization? How to measure and enhance the
productivity of the organization?

Action What techniques and tactics could be utilized

to encounter the learning goals of the
organization?

Implementation How to imply and practise learning?

Leadership skills By adherents I can think about my driving

force. In the event that they are cheerful and
doing great job then it implies I'm going great.
By nature of work. On the off chance that
working target is going towards destinations.
I need to rehearse more to make devotees and
ready to deal with difficulties which come in
front
I will be honest in my work environment
through giving nature of work and meet the
objective of work convenient.

Presentation skills I can see my introduction capacities through

analysis of partners in school and affiliation or
myself.
I will keep doing presentation and (talk) talk
before mass for an hour/2 hours.
I will state to partners to raise my deficiency in
my presentation
I will do presentation and keep saying even in
little points. Whatever, I learnt in my school
affiliation, I will return home and will advice
the same encourage to my friends and family.

Skills to be improved Resource Implications

Leadership Skills
How to monitor progress
Completion date

To lead organization improvement towards achievement of Al Madina's main goal, without a

moment's hesitation headway needs isn't adequate, so it is crucial to consider initiative
progression on whole deal premise. By the help of professional an administrator can change
structures with whole deal work improvement targets and revenue (Schaubroeck, Lam and
Cha, 2007). Here, profession pipeline is basic structure to assemble employment plan of
utilitarian manager.

Al Madina's functional manager is responsible for managing a business work at operational

dimension and adding to all around business targets. To the extent of improvement to roll out
the improvement to the business level through, a supervisor needs to assess whether he is
close to the climbing or not and to clear about what he have to do with the true objective to
achieve this for example need to make aptitudes to building gathering and alliances,
organization capacities, presentation capacities, etc.
Devise an implementation process to underpin the success of the development plan that
can realise substantial changes in leadership style (2.3)

One decision for arranging improvement is to use a SMART objective based course of action.
An administrator needs to make SMART goals to execute progression plan. SMART
technique shows the:

 Specific-tremendous, extending
 Measurable-significant, persuasive
 Achievable-agreeable, movement masterminded
 Realistic-reasonable, reviewable, satisfying
 Timed-helpful, unmistakable, track skilled (Hill, Jones and Schilling, 2014)

The above SMART objective is made by functional Manager by Al Madina Group.

So as to turn into the business director in Al Madina, organization aptitudes and presentation
capacities are required.

For usage of plan, Managers need to make log arrange which is reasonable way to plan and
look for after authority advancement desires. Log sorts out managers to make goals and
execution need and catch contribution on activity limits. The managers gave an arranged way
of execution plan in the business:

Objectives What could be done to enhance the

performance?

Implementation How would I apply and practise learning?

Completion date -
Leadership skills By adherents I can think about my driving
force. In the event that they are cheerful
and doing great job then it implies I'm
going great.
Presentation skills I can perceive my introduction abilities
through criticism of partners in school and
association or myself.

Task 3

Critically evaluate the achievement of outcomes of the plan against original objectives
(AC 3.1)

As we analyse over new techniques and plan of the managers to improve the general
execution of the business, it has been examined that the business is required to oversee and
roll out couple of improvements into its inward approaches so the key objective of the
business could be met. Through actualizing the new methodologies in the business, the
underneath result would be accomplished by the managers which would improve their own
capacities and help the business to meet the individual goals:

 The main thrust of a leader or manager would be improved. If they are lively and
doing extraordinary occupation then it suggests I'm going incredible.

 The idea of work and the working target is going towards goals.

 prepared to manage troubles which come in front

 Ethical and moral qualities in workplace through giving nature of work and meet the
goal of work helpful (Hitt, Ireland and Hoskisson, 2012).

Evaluate the impact of leadership style and the achievement of objectives on strategic
ambitions in different organisational settings (AC 3.2)

In Al Madina, the most widely recognized administration style pursued by the administrators
is participative leadership style. The effect of this style on the business as below:

It revels the workers to keep their focuses

It motivates the workers
It offers a self-responsibility to the worker
It offers different proposal to managers to resolve an issue
It prompts an advantage towards mutual benefits.

Critically review and update the leadership development plan (AC 3.3)

The leadership advancement plan of Al Madina group has been inspected on different basis
and it has been discovered that few changes would improve the general execution of the
business, for example, better duty towards the particular activity ventures so as to accomplish
the objective of the business, re-assessment of the activity plan of the business after a specific
timespan to deal with the general execution of the business and so on the new improvement
plan of business is as per the following:
Figure 2: Leadership1 plan
(Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart and Wright, 2006)

Task 4
Critically evaluate the impact of corporate commitment to employee welfare on
strategic organisational objectives (AC 4.1)

As mentioned by CIPD staff welfare is making a scenario to advance the state of joy which
empowers a person to succeed and achieve their most extreme ability to help themselves and
their organization.
Al Madina believes that being 'an unprecedented workplace' is set up in its inheritance and
characteristics that expect a vital activity in achieving its business targets. In this way, it
believes that laborers is phenomenal assets to accomplish key requirements. Just by the help
of fit and sound workers and all-around workforce, Al Madina can reach to its key goals (Van
Der Vegt and Bunderson, 2005). Along these lines, it is keeping laborers in the central of
heart of its strategy. For this it has a welfare arrangement plan for staff which diminishes high
rates of non-appearance and extra costs, convince people and upgrade capability. Al Madina
is centered around extending the prosperity and flourishing of delegates by motivating strong
lifestyles. It believes that thriving isn't just about the neutralizing activity of organization or
damage but a reasonable work life adjusts. For this it portrays a wellbeing and security
preparing project and it's propelling strong lifestyles for workers.

Al Madina is advancing extra time settlement, voyaging reward, Christmas reward, and pay
event and so forth as a staff welfare program. It made plans to offers opportunity to improve
organization limits, aptitudes and capacity through 'You Can' program. Association is made
plans to give five territories of flourishing for example physical, eager, values, mindfulness,
and affiliation/prospering work.

Discuss how an employee welfare environment can affect achievement of strategic

organisational objectives (AC 4.2)
Staff welfare links with three perspectives that contribute towards staff welfare. They are
work life balance, versatile working and decline of business-related pressure. Staff welfare is
critical to get delegate's immovability and addition their purpose which makes viability and
proficiency among experts. It also creates stable work oblige and decrease work turnover and
non-participation which reduces cost. Staff welfare is the limited to build altruism and
upgrade open picture and battle exchange unionism and communist thoughts. These aspects
pushes the workforce to advancement (Reader, Flin, Mearns and Cuthbertson, 2009).
In veritable business world an expansive segment of the corporate house apparent that it is
hard to accomplish key goals without dependable, enduring and especially impelled
workforce. Making staff welfare condition is one way to gather particularly energized work
group. In Al Madina, managers are responsible for making such condition. For this, leaders
can advance such mission expression which focus on people and make working condition as
shown by staff welfare procedure and measures. Managers are responsible for making staff
approach, prosperity and security strategy. As a staff welfare procedure, Al Madina is giving
fundamental remedial workplaces and offering prosperity assessment. Likewise, it is urging
on ergonomic issues and workplace arrangement, propelling extraordinary prosperity
including wellbeing and good dieting, overseeing pressure related cases and coordinating
organizations (Espinosa, Slaughter, Kraut and Herbsleb, 2007).

Finally, by focusing on the staff welfare condition, Al Madina could bring down the cost,
dimension of non-attendance and turnover rates, business related perils and danger of
legitimate activity and show signs of progress corporate reputation and extended productivity.
Al Madina has made plans to make staff welfare condition in workplace which assembles
steadfast, consistent and roused workforce which will benefit venture in achievement of key
objectives of the association.

Determine the influence of corporate commitment to employee welfare on the

development of organisational values that will realise strategic ambitions (AC 4.3)
Definitive characteristics portray the organization's arrangements/ policies and rules that
control the organization. While making legitimate characteristics, there is some effect of a
corporate assurance to staff welfare. In this forefront business period a large proportion of the
business is looking out for staff welfare to get faithfulness ' and efficiency to increase the
productivity of laborers in work which is valuable likewise. (Srivastava, Bartol and Locke,
2006).
