Hi kids, today we will learn about

Possessive, Demonstrative and
Interrogative determiners in this
session.

At the end of the lesson, we will

learn about the usage of various
possessive, demonstrative and
interrogative determiners.
1. Possessive Determiner

DEFINITION

A possessive determiner is a type of

function word used in front of a noun to
express possession or belonging.

Possessive determiners indicate ownership. We use

them before the things belonging to a person or
an animal. They are placed before nouns and are
also known as possessive objectives.

There are three groups of possessive

determiners.

2. Demonstrative Determiner

DEFINITION

A Demonstrative is a determiner or
a pronoun that points to a particular noun
or to the noun it replaces.

We use Demonstrative determiners to point out the

exact noun we are referring to. They are placed
before nouns and are also known as demonstrative
adjectives.

Interrogative determiners are determiners

that formulate direct or indirect questions
and exclamations.

what and whose to ask questions about a
particular noun. They are also known as
interrogative adjectives.

We put interrogative determiners before a

noun.
• Which dressing table do you prefer?
• What is the title of this play?
• Whose idea is it to play in the kitchen?

Which is used with of before a plural noun.
