SPEAKING PART 2 :

1. Sth you bought : Book

There ‘s a world of renowed and amazing books in the world yet my at fav one is a
VN history book which I bought after paying a visit to VN national museum last summer
with my classmates. Afterwards, I had a short getaway with my besties for my summer
vacation, therefore, I brought it along as my fellow traveler to read when I was on the move.
To be more specific, the book content was about the rich heritage of VN in 1900s,
Vietnam‘s past struggles against foreign colonization and how peace was established in the
country. My wealth of knowledge was broaden since it provided a vivid portrayal of VN
history events and historical figures. Moreover, it reminded me of one of the biggest
milestones in Viet Nam’s history: the declaration of Independence. On September 2nd of
1945, president HCM declared to the world that VN officially became a sovereign state, after
years of being invaded.
I really take a keen interest in this lecture because I believe that it was totally
successful to instill in VN people a sense of patriotism and appreciation of peace and order.
I believe that they will be a great inspiration to younger generations of VN.

2. Technology equipment
To be honest I was not kind of spoiled kid when I was knee high to grasshopper. My parents
didn’t pamper me with whatever I pester for. Therefore, until I was in high school, I still was
banned from using a cellphone because my parents thought that I might get distracted by this
one. Therefore, I only received my first cellphone from my father when I ended up joining a
top university in a nation with flying colors.
It was a beautiful cellphone with white color and a barely touch-screen. It really comes in
handy as well since it assists me to not only keep in touch with my family and my friends but
also to unwind and to take a break after a hectic day at university by listening to music or
surfing the internet.
I was in cloud 9 and got elated the first time I saw it, especially when it was my dream phone
for a long time. It also reminded me of one of my successful achievement in my entire life.
And can you believe that? It is even more surprising because my parent bought me this phone
without knowing it was my all-time favorite. What a memorable and meaningful coincidence

3. Free time
There are many great shopping streets around Hanoi but to me the outstanding one for sure is
Dinh Le Street, which is better well-known as the “Book street”. Located in the heart of
Hanoi near Hoan Kiem Lake, it is a beautiful small street about 200 meters long.
It is open 7 days a week and is always busy with book buyers. Arriving at this street, you
would find yourself astonished at the numerous bookshops with various book types such as
Vietnamese literary titles, foreign literature, cookery books, novels and so on. These books
are arranged into sections, which is really easy for customers to find.
You know all ages of people come here with diverse backgrounds. For students and book
lovers, Dinh Le Street has become a familiar place for a long time. Some people buy books
for referencing or relaxation. Others just love standing to read bits and pieces. Sometimes,
foreign visitors also find it curious and buy books in here.
I often go there with my best friend - David because he is also a book worm like me. We both
enjoy looking for new books and also exchange them to save money. This is actually the
ideal place to buy imported books from other countries with higher quality. Our favourite
bookshop on this street is Lam bookshop because it offers all the kinds of books we desire to
buy.
What makes Dinh Le Street so special is its truly French atmosphere. All bookshops have
elegant French architecture and are surrounded by green trees and pretty boutique coffee
shops. The overall atmosphere is very enjoyable and relaxing. On top of that, the thing that I
particularly like is that they often offer 10-20% discount, which is fairly reasonable. At
weekends or on special occasions such as the New School year or International Children’s
Day, it becomes a lively place.
Dinh Le street indeed plays a great role in maximizing cultural values in Hanoi as well as
upholding the reading book culture.I would highly recommend anyone who has a thirst for
knowledge to visit this street and for sure it will enlighten your book shopping experience

4. Magazine
Well, I don’t actually read magazines much these days. I generally keep up to date with the
lastest news from the Internet. However, there is an impressive magazine that I do read –
named “ Heritage”
So this is the free inflight magazines of VN Airlines which is now available on domestic and
iternational routes. It is published monthly as a gift to all its valuable passengers.
What I absolutely love about this magazine is it provides various well-written articles. The
writing and presentation of the topic are very engaging and interesting. The stories are not
distorted like the other entertainment magazines. They all have really clear, concise and awe-
inspiring stories
To put the icing on the cake, it is a billingual magazine (E-V) , which I think is an excellent
tool for readers, especially student who have thirst for learning English or even teachers to
use as a useful teaching material.
Above all, I would say thay Heritage magazine is definitely worth reading

5. Advertising
I’m going to talk about the ads that still sticks to mind until now. That’s the ads for OMO
which is the most popular detergent brand in VN.
I saw it on Tv commercial on the occasion of Tet holiday which is the traditional festival in
Vn
My eyes got stuck on its ads right at the very first moment as it was presented in the form
of a short film in which an old man was trying to sell some handicraft to earn some money
for a ticket home to reunion with his family but he seemed unlucky as people were hurry to
prepare for Tet without any attention to him. Just a little girl noticed his situation, she decided
to call on an action to help an old man by red banner which said: To us Tet is coming near
but to this man tet is thousand miles away, the ads really touched my heart. The fact that the
ads use an emotional approach to illustrate its slogan: Good deeds mind no dirt completely
stole people’s heart and motivated to similar things in a heartbeat
I found my eyes in tear at the end of the ads and that’s the reason why it’s the most
memorable ads to me until now.
6. Describe a story makes you feel interesting
1. When I was at secondary school, my grandmother told me a very interesting romantic story
about a poor woodsman and a fairy lady
2. Once, the fairy lady lost in the forest when it was totally dark. She was unconscious
because she was so hungry and tired.
3. The woodsman saved, carried her home then he cooked her some soup. 4. When she woke
up, she was moved and felt in love with the woodscutter. The man also felt sorry for the poor
girl and accepted her.
5. They really love each other and everything seemed to be alright until the beautiful lady
told him that she was a fairy and she had to be back to the Heaven
6. The poor woodsman felt hopeless, they both cried because they are about to leave forever.
One early morning, he woke up and his love had gone.
7. The God of Heaven also cried for their love when he knew it, he agreed to let his daughter
back to Earth. Since then, the woodsman and the fairy lady lives happily forever
8. And I will never forget this romantic story about true love.
