 United in Purpose

I remember the story of the boys cutting up in the

bathroom. A number of them was misbehaving and
causing quite a disturbance. The principal made a
decision to lock the bathroom door until everyone
conducted himself in a reasonable manner. The principal

informed them that he would be glad to unlock the door
as soon as everyone calm down and act in a reasonable
manner. The principal very surprised that he received the
exact opposite of what you were expecting. The high
school students unified themselves and made a decision
that if the principal was not opening the door they would
push through the wall. That is what exactly happened
they actually pushed through a brick wall.

The power of unity, while I do not condone the behavior
of the high school student I certainly see an important
application. How many spiritual walls can we push
through if we became united in one purpose?

 United in Commitment

It is very the important that we make a commitment to be

united. Unity can be defined as many different parts
work together as one. Perhaps the best example I can
give would be the automobile. Have you ever noticed
how many different parts that are to your car? You have

the engine department, you have to electrical system, you
have the fuel system, and the steering system. Just to
name a few, all have one purpose is to provide
transportation for the place you desire to go.

With all the unique things our vehicles have in them

today, there is only one driver. The passengers may vary
according to the size of the vehicle, but there is only one
drive. Imagine the mass confusion if a vehicle had three

different drivers. They all may want to go to the same
place each one of them may have a different way to get
there. One driver would decide to use 5th Street, the
other driver would decide on using Main Street, and the
third driver may decide to use something altogether
different and go down Park Way.

 United in Gifts and Talents

In our ministry there are many different types of

ministries, apostle, teachers, pastors, evangelist, prophets.
Some who just started in the ministry, others who has
been ministering for a while. There are ones with

specialized in street ministry, other who pastors churches,
writers, others to show mercy by feeding the poor and
clothing the naked. We must take out different talents,
anointing, and gifting and submit them to that one person
who God had ordained to be the leader (the one who is
driving the vehicle). Please we do not need any backseat
drivers. I’m reminded of a sister I used to pick up for
church that had never driven a car or have a license to

operate a vehicle. She was always telling the driver how
the drive, which way to go and how she thought it would
be best way to get there. One day my patience ran a bit
short, I stopped car, turn it off, and got out. I open her
door asked her to get out, and place her in the driver seat.
She was totally confused and did not even know how to
start the engine. I asked how this it someone who has so
much advice but no experience in driving. Well I do not

know how she did other drivers but after that incident she
never complained or gave me directions about driving.

Let us be of one mind and one purpose, in the unity of the

spirit, stand with the leaders God has given to us. May

God continue to give our leaders vision, and direction as
our leaders drive us toward the purpose of God.

 The Oil of Unity

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to

dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment
upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even
Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his
garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that
descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the

LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”
(Psa 133:1-3)

Have you ever noticed that the oil of unity flow down?
The ointment was poured out the head and it ran (or flow)
down. Together let us make a commitment to follow
purposes of this ministry, as we bring revival to the
nations, the glory of God, and hope to every nation.
