Students should be able to know how to construct Mrs. Potato Head themselves.

Performance Objective (use an action verb in a description of a measurable


outcome):
Children will grab the eyes, mouth, hat, nose, arms, and legs.

Materials & Aids (what you will need in order to teach this activity):
Children will each get a Mrs. Potato Head, be in a group and put it together.
Box will include two arms, two feet, a nose, eyes, earrings, and purse.
Procedures:
a. Focusing event (how you will begin the lesson and attract the children’s
attention):
I will first show them the box of Mrs. Potato Head and by that I should have
captured their attention.

b. Student Participation (how you will get the students to participate and stay
on task)
I will keep them in a group and go around and make sure that they are doing what they
are supposed to be doing. Then awarding them for the good job.

c. Teaching procedures (step-by-step directions for what and how you will
teach):
1. I will have the children be in a group of 4.
2. Next show them the activity.
3. Show them what they will be doing
4. Then show them the directions that they needed to do.
5. I will speak to them slowly and making sure that they understand on what they
need to do.
6. Last reward them for their work.

d. Closure (how you will end the learning activity):


I will end the learning activity by asking them if they had fun and if they loved matching.

Assessment
a. Formative check (progress checks throughout the learning activity):
I will be keeping track of the progress of the children through a folder and write down
how they are progressing with their matching.

b. Summative assessment (how you will measure outcomes to determine if


the material has been learned):
I will continue to be by the children while they doing the activity and ask them this
picture goes where and what color it is with matching ti with the right color.

Children who have special needs will be able to do this activity with no trouble at all.

A blank piece of paper
Different colored paints
Procedures:
a. Focusing event (how you will begin the lesson and attract the children’s
attention):
I will first give them an example of the activity.

b. Student Participation (how you will get the students to participate and stay
on task):
I will demonstrate the activity by using my own foot first.

c. Teaching procedures (step-by-step directions for what and how you will
teach):
​I will give the children a blank piece of paper
Have them choose a colored paint
Then paint one foot of the children
Then place their foot on the piece of paper
Last add arms, legs, and ears

d. Closure (how you will end the learning activity):


I will end the activity by having the children show their activity to the entire class.

I will go around the room and see the child’s progress on the activity.

b. Summative assessment (how you will measure outcomes to determine if


the material has been learned):
I will keep a folder for each of the child as well as a chart of their progress to show to
the child’s parents.

Children with special needs will be able to participate in this activity with no problem.
