Title: : Design of Electromechanical/Electro
inductive clutch and automatic gear with its
substitution to conventional bike transmission
system.

Introdution:
The clutch is an important part in the transmission system
of automobiles. It transmits power from the engine to gear box at various
speeds. No shock is caused during this transmission of power. The function of
the clutch is to temporarily disconnect the engine from the gear box unit.
When the gear has to be changed from the first to the second ,it should be
done after disconnecting the engine from the gear box. If this is not done ,the
gear teeth might break. The clutch is thus helpful when starting, shifting gears
and idling.

Electromagnetic clutch:
It is a modified form of conventional clutch
which operate electrically but transmit torque mechanically. This
is why they used to be referred to as electro-mechanical
clutches.Electromagnetic clutches are most suitable for remote
operation since no mechanical linkages are required to control
their engagement, providing fast, smooth operation.
Application:
They can be used for remote application because they do not require
linkage to actuate the clutch. They are used in printing machinery,
conveyor drives, copier machines and factory automation. In an
automobile, it replaces clutch pedal by a simple switch button. A
smaller EM clutch is used to drive the compressor of air conditioning
system.

Installation in bike:
The considered clutch is particularly based
on the modulated field principle and has two shafts. The clutch
engagement and disengagement and torque transmission is
controlled by manipulation of the stator currents and the slip
speed between the two shafts. The dynamic model of the
electromagnetic clutch is found to be nearly identical to that of a
permanent magnet synchronous machine. Electrical power
demanded by the clutch is high only during engagement and
disengagement transient periods and the steady state power is
only required to compensate the electrical losses in the clutch.
Our Aim:
Our aim is to design advanced and fully automatic bike
125cc engine bike capable to engage and disengage clutch with shifting
gear automatically with three different riding modes ie;sport ,comfort
and encomical delivering the performance according to drivers
choice. To get rid to pressing the clutch and shifting gear and shifting
the bike manual transmission to new era .
