Good starting point is to check your device settings. First,
make sure that you are connected to Wi-Fi or cellular network.
The next step is to select Settings and go to Messages
section. Take a look if Send as SMS, MMS and iMessage is
ON.
Solution No.3: Switch 2G

Sometimes, LTE and 3G are responsible for this issue. Switch
the Voice & Data feature on your iPhone to 2G and try to
resend your texts.
1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Cellular, and make sure Cellular Data is On.
3. Tap the Cellular Data Options, and tap Voice & Data.

condition is till good, no scratch or damage. Then, put it back

I have not been able to send or receive group messages if there is a
non-iPhone user included in the group for about 5 yrs. I have spent
countless hours reading posts and checking/changing my settings.
Nothing worked. I upgraded my i-Phone from a 5 to a 7 to an X and
gave my husband the old phone each time. He was always able to
exchange messages with any type of smart phone. BUT…I still couldn’t
send/receive text messages with non-iPhone users. After my carrier
assured me it had to be in my Apple setup, I decided to press the
issue with Apple so I spent a couple hours chatting/talking real-time
with an Apple advisor. He was about to have me to a complete back
up and restore without signing in with my Apple ID so we could do
some more testing. but then I asked if the problem could be related to
my SIM card/carrier account which was the only common element in
my last 3 iPhone upgrades. He then wanted to check a few more
things so he scheduled to call me back. In the meantime, I contacted
my carrier and described the problem and emphasized that my
husband always received my old phone and it worked with all types of
group texts but my new phone didn’t. She checked my account and
found that 5 years prior the carrier had “blocked” some settings which
were likely causing the problem. She then removed all of the “blocks”
in my account and had me reboot and test. It worked!!! She is the first
person that actually listened to me and analyzed the problem instead
of following a series of pre-defined procedures related to problems
with group texts between iPhone and other users. Don’t give up…and
be sure you are telling the tech person everything possible about
your situation!!

the same problem with verizon. Didn’t have the problem

I have been having this issue for a while now. We can not send a text
out to ANYONE who has an Android cell phone. If I turn imessage off,
sometimes I can get a 1 sentence text out of its 1 android phone i’m
sending it to. It will take 15 minutes and if fingers it goes through.
There is a bout a 10% change of that. However, if its a group
message…no way. Its not going at all. I had the iphone 7Plus and it
couldn’t be fixed. So I upgraded to Iphone X. They said I shouldn’t
have the issue any longer. Well, yes I do! Apple says its Sprint and
Spring says its Appple. I have a question to anyone who reads this.
Are you all Sprint customers having this issue? Just curious if its other
carriers, then that leads me to belive it is Apple. If everyone is Sprint,
then I’m thinking it is a Sprint thing.
My husband and 13 year old son have the same issue. I do not feel
that we should be paying for services that do not work. Apple/Sprint
need to get this fixed. They all act like they have never heard of this
happening before. Yet, its everywhere that people are complaining.

I started having this problem, i.e. unable to send texts to non-
iphones, when I switched to sprint around September. I found
at that time that restarting my phone would allow the text to go
through, but had to do it every time. A carrier settings update
seemed to fix the problem, but a recent carrier settings update
seems to have reintroduced the problem. I can no longer send
texts to non-iphones and a phone restart (and everything else)
does not resolve the problem. This is a big deal for me as my
husband and mother do not have iphones. To me sprint is
clearly the problem. Do we need to wait for another settings
update?

Has anyone found a solution yet , I have tried every fix I have found I
still can’t send or receive messages from android phones on odd
occasions I can but then and hr later I can’t again… short of buying a
new iphone not sure what to do . I have an iPhone 6s, but will a new
updated one do the same . Starting to wonder if Apple haven’t done
something sneaky like they did with the phone cords and chargers to
force older phone users to buy upgrades

Have been having the same problem. It started this summer. I have an
iphone and sometimes texts to android users just don’t go.
Sometimes a hard reset solves it. Sometimes it does not. I am on the
Sprint network, and they don’t have a clue what the problem is. So
frustrating! We set up groupme as a work-around and that is working
fine.

My daughter has a new iphone always had an iphone. I have galaxy
s6 edge always had samsung phone. She can receive messages from
me but cant send them to me. Only me no problems with any other
numbers. Please help
