Standard 4, content knowledge, was addressed in the EDU 390 course.

We were required to write a

research paper on a specific comprehension or composition strategy. I chose to write on the comprehension

strategy of determining the main idea of a text. In doing this research on this strategy, I felt that my content

knowledge grew. I learned several different ways to teach this strategy and I was able to use this content

knowledge in my solo teaching this semester.
