Lesson Plan in English 9

I. Learning Objectives:

For students to follow their path of journey, they have to:

1. Share thoughts, feelings and intentions on the material viewed


2. Restate ideas conveyed by the text
3. Analyze on how literature help in discovering oneself

IV. Procedures

A. Introductory Activity
o Opening Prayer
o Checking of Attendance/ Roll call of Students
o Review of the past activity

B. Motivation
Let students give their insight about the saying, “Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet.
Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired
and success achieved.”

C. Lesson Proper
 A photo of the characters of Harry Potter, Narnia, and Lord of the Rings will be showed o
the students. They will study the photo and will list down the common traits in the photo
collage.
 After that, they will answer the questions: 1. Who among the characters do you like most?
Why? 2. Do you have what it takes to be like any of them? Why do you say so? 3. Based
on their characteristics and intentions, what name could be associated to them?
 A song entitled “ Heaven’s Door” will be played three time and students will list down
lines that catch their attention. They will then write what those lines means for them.
They can choose a partner to walk with.
 They will listen to the explanation of the teacher about the song as well as the explanation
of paraphrasing.
 Teacher will present more examples of paraphrasing

V. Evaluation
Another song which is “This is my Now” will be presented to them and they will paraphrase lines from it.
VI. Assignment
In a ½ crosswise, choose 5 lines from the work of the following poets: Atticus, Lang Leav, Micheal Faudet,
and Erin Hanson and write what it means in your own opinion.
