Jamie Sutton lives in a house in Oxford. He is 22years old. He has been recently diagnosed
by his family doctor with asthma. He has a cough and a wheeze. He finds it difficult to take a
deep breath and has right sided chest pain which he says is as a consequence of coughing.
His family doctor prescribed inhalers and a course of steroids.

He has been admitted to your ward for treatment of asthma.

Background information

 Jamie smokes 10 cigarettes a day. He has smoked since he was 13.


 He lives with his mother and sister. His mother smokes.
 Jamie cycles to work
 He works full time as a carpenter
