TASK/OPERATION BEING ASSESSED

PURPOSE/METHOD OF WORK

Purpose:
• To organize and present for the public, an event/exhibition to rain awareness and promote saving the seas. Our event is
taking place on the 9th May from 3:30pm – 6:00pm

Method:
• Students will organize the space provided within St Stephens Church in Exeter.
• Students will exhibit forms of art, promotion talks and speech’s, presents, food and drink.

Slips and Trips The Public/Students/Staff Performance areas must be kept clear and as organized as possible. All
unnecessary articles should be removed.

High levels of housekeeping are maintained at all times.

Access and aggress are kept clear at all times, including fire and evacuation routes.

Manual Students/Staff Manual handling operations should only be undertaken after the completion of an
handling assessment taking into account the control measures identified.

Students should only carry out minimal moving and handling tasks and must
receive instruction in safe manual handling techniques.

Manual Students/Staff Students must be instructed how to lift and carry correctly.

on site with lecturer. Premise holders will be made aware of the incident.

Fire Staff/Students Fire escape routes and exits must be kept clear of obstructions at all times and
clearly marked with approved signs. This are provided and announced to the
student by the premise holders before the event will take place.
Fire extinguishers and alarm points to be kept clear of obstruction at all times.
Students to be instructed in emergency evacuation procedure. Students with
mobility issues must be made aware of the nearest refuge points.

General Students/Staff Staff will supervise at all times throughout the event.
All results of risk assessments will be explained to staff and students.
Good levels of housekeeping will be maintained at all times.

First Aid Students/Staff Adequate numbers of fully trained first aiders are available at all times.
Provision (lack Exeter College’s first aid and accident procedures are understood by staff and
