Synchro Advantages

1. As compared to Navisworks, when we import a schedule in Synchro, all the activities are linked to each other as
they are in the MSP or P6 file. While Navisworks makes each activity independent, which makes things difficult
when one does changes in the schedule.
2. The scheduling/planning can be done in Synchro itself.
3. The critical path can be seen and the 3D can be visualized at the same time.
4. Filters can be used for both tasks and the model, while Navisworks doesn’t give that facility.
5. The task can be filtered as per the requirement, one/two week look ahead from the current time or from the
focus time can be filtered.
6. Milestone dates, started and finished tasks can be filtered.
7. The schedule can be filtered on the basis of assigned and unassigned tasks.
8. The created layouts save the filters with them, which can be helpful when we need to check the difference in the
3D with the help of different filters.
9. Customized user fields (conditions/formulas) can be created as per the requirement.
10. The Synchro library can be used for site logistics part.
11. Synchro can directly talk to other software’s like P6, MSP, MS Excel, 3D models (IFC, FBX, .dxf, .dwg, .dwf,
.dwxf , .dae etc.)
12. Resources are assigned to all the 3D elements which can give us the resource usage graph.
13. Different 3D views can be seen at the same time (If different filters are applied).
14. Different schedules can be compared in the 3D view.
15. 3D view properties and 3D properties give complete information of that particular 3D element.
16. Basic 3D elements can be created in Synchro (box, sphere, cylinder, extrusion, text, textured plane).
17. Different colour appearance of 3D elements can be easily applied as per the requirement.
18. If the schedule has cost in it, which can be directly linked with the model and S-curve / Earned Value can be
generated. If the cost is not available in the schedule, it can be manually provided in Synchro itself.
19. Animation options are much better as compared to Navisworks, the sweep can be applied on the 3D elements.
20. Post Production can be done in Synchro itself, with the timeline, logo, music etc.
21. Scheduling report can be generated which can give all the statistics of the project.
