Q1. What are the main features of the Get Connected course?
A. The Cisco Networking Academy® Get Connected course provides an introduction to the digital
world with networks as a foundation for connecting people and things. The curriculum helps
students understand how to use computers and connect to the Internet. Get Connected also
explores the human network and introduces students to the world of social media. Students
experience the fun and value of interacting with others through common software applications and
tools.
Get Connected offers the following features:
Illustrations and narrations guide students through each topic to help develop an
understanding of the connected world
Videos and activities reinforce learning and keep students engaged
Quizzes and a final exam measure student comprehension
Q2. What are the availability options for the Get Connected course?
A. The course is available as self-enroll as well as instructor led. Students can self-enroll to take the
course at their own pace in places and at times most convenient to them. The course can also be
taught by academy instructors in an academy classroom.

Q7. Are current academy instructors required to complete additional instructor training to teach
Get Connected?
A. No, instructor training is not required academy instructors. However, we recommend that instructors
become familiar with the course before delivering their first class
Q8. Will there be teaching guidelines and other online support material available for
instructors?
A. Get Connected is an introductory course design for self-study. Although an instructor-led version is
available the instructor role is more like a mentor, guiding students if they have any questions. No
instructor support material will be available for Get Connected.
Q9. Will Get Connected help students prepare for a certification exam?
A. Get Connected is an introductory course that focuses on basic computer and Internet navigation
skills and is not aligned to any specific certification.
Q12. What are the recommended browsers for Get Connected in Cisco NetSpace?
A. NetSpace performance is best with the two most recent versions of the following browsers: Mozilla
Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer

Q15. I’m an institution; can I join the Networking Academy program to teach only Get
Connected?
A. Yes, nonprofit learning and community centers are welcome to join the Cisco Networking Academy
Fast Track program. The Fast Track does not require instructor training or equipment purchases and
the following courses are available:

Introduction to the Internet of Everything
Introduction to Cybersecurity
NDG Linux Essentials
Be Your Own Boss
Entrepreneurship
