own idea of what world peace looks like.

Printer paper
Materials Drawing/coloring materials (crayons, colored pencils, etc.)
The teacher will read the students a book related to peace and nonviolence
(examples listed below).

Instructional After the chosen book is read to the students, they will each be given a piece of
printer paper and access to drawing materials. The students will then be asked to
Activities & draw their idea of world peace and how they fit into it, based on the ideas
Strategies described in the book.
Some students will be asked to share their drawing and describe their idea of

Although the students should define world peace on their own terms, here is a

Concepts “World peace, or peace on Earth, is the concept of an ideal state of happiness,
freedom and peace within and among all people and nations on earth.”
