War on Drugs

Drug abuse is an issue that is still around in the United States which are causing crime

and health problems for people. So Drug Abuse is the habitual taking of addictive or illegal

drugs. Taking these drugs can lead to either overdosing or health problems whether that be your

body or mental state of mind. Also while doing these drugs you are influencing the teenagers of

our generation to try or even think it is okay to do drugs. Drugs have been around for a long time

and had an extensive drug use during the time of World War 1. Drugs have traveled all around

the world of good and bad usage.

So yes some drugs are for medical purposes like from suffering from anxiety, bipolar

disorder, depression or other medical illnesses. As well as getting physically injured and

intentionally get hooked on prescribed drugs. So if the issue is not resolved the crime rate will be

high because more people will be on drugs, it is popular around school I hear it where ever I go.

It should not be popular because of the death rates, people are overdosing from taking these

drugs. Hear my call to action because we will have to be stricter on drugs and find out where the

drugs are coming from. Then will can put a border between prescribed drugs and drugs to help

the people that are supposed to be using the drugs for good usage. The society should stop

abusing drugs because they are influencing the teenagers to do drugs which can lead to overdose

and illness.

So the war on drugs is going on in the United States and the drugs are winning because

they are coming from everywhere and a lot of the people are using them for bad usage. We have

to start using the drugs for medical purposes, not for the feeling to feel high or buzz because

soon or later you are going to very ill or addicted. In the article (Are illicit drug users more likely

to receive mental health treatment) “This trend in illegal drug use is exemplified by the rapid

increase shown in both non-medical cannabis and methamphetamine use.” Drugs are becoming a

trend to do which is not good for your health and drugs shouldn’t be a thing you should try.

Drugs are illegal yet we are still fighting drugs and it’s causing crime because everyone is selling

on the black market to get some drugs and see them to the public to get more profit. The article

also says ‘Addiction is a chronic disease characterized by the drug seeking and use that is

compulsive or difficult to control.” People are becoming addicted to drugs so it making them get

the drug by any mean. Which can make them do crime since they have no money for the drugs

because they are spending all their money for the drug. Drugs are not helping the society because

it is doing all the wrong for the people causing them to do crime and overdose.

For the people are getting addicted to the drug need help to get treatment so they can

have a good life and not lose his life to drugs so he can do something great with his life. Now

people are becoming addicted to drugs because the first time you try drugs you feel different

some people like it so they try it again to feel the same way but the more you take the drugs you

are mostly likely to take more drugs just to feel the same way for your first time. This article

(Understanding drugs use and addiction) “Many people don’t understand why or how other

people become addicted to drugs because of their first time.” So when you do drugs for the first

time you will get high but if you like it you would want to get that high again but it would take

more drugs to get you to the same level because your body would have got used to the amount

you took the first time. You can get easily addicted to drugs because you may really have a good

time with the people you do it with so you would want to do it again which is unacceptable for

your mental and body health. The same article I recently used as well says “Addiction is a

chronic disease characterized by drug seeking and use that is compulsive, or difficult to control.”

You will feel like you didn’t have enough drugs to get you high so you would so you would get

more drugs and you still won’t feel the same and you are going to keep buying drugs which is

leading you to drug addiction. The drugs are not worth giving your life for trying to feel the same

high when you can do well for your future self and family.

This is about when you take too much drugs which is the last step of what drugs do to

you after you had too much in your system and overdo it. Doing drugs can cause harm to the

person taking the drugs and the people around them, like drinking and driving or people driving

on drugs can also be in harm. The article (Are illicit drug users more likely to receive mental

health treatment) says “Illegal drug induced fatal auto mobile accidents increased by 70%

between 1999 and 2010, up 16.6 to 28.3%.” The drugs that are causing death around you it’s not

always the drugs, it is the people doing the drugs because they are taking them and trying to get

home and risk their life to do it,
